Glanleam House is a wonderful old house with a great history - as the whole Valentia Island - in the middle of a subtropical garden with many animals and with stunning views to the garden or the sea. The owner family is very friendly. We had a great stay and enjoyed specially to relax in the noble drawing room at the warm fireplace. Thank you!

Staying here was a highlight of our trip to Ireland. The family who run it are incredibly friendly and welcoming and we extended our stay - as did other guests! The house has an interesting history and gorgeous views, and the gardens are just as exciting, full of unusual plants, flowers and beautiful walks. We would highly recommend a stay on Valentia Island and this is definitely the place to be!

We spent a couple of hours here, 4 adults and 4 children. We took a stroll out to the lighthouse right on the coast and enjoyed every minute of it, with all the amazing sub tropical plants and flowers. Lovely pirate treasure to be found and even a cute fairy village with lots to explore. Great for all ages and great value aswell for a couple of hours. Bring a picnic as there are lovely places to just sit down and enjoy the amazing views.

Room Tip: We didnt stay here but just visited the garden which was so lovely

Such a lovely experience. Jessica was really helpful by email from initial enquiry to arrival. We were met by her cheerful friendly Mum, then by Jessica and Eoin who greeted us at the Boathouse, showing us everything we needed and then leaving us to it until we left...

The Boathouse is simple and beautiful. You just don't want to move from the mesmerising view. We loved watching the local seal and the diving gannets.

The sauna and jacuzzi bath are lovely and the kitchen is really cosy. Bedrooms are basic, but our bed was really comfortable, far more than appearance suggested.

The beach is perfect for an evening paddle or swim and the gardens, whilst definitely on the wild side, are full of eccentric surprises and amazing plants.

On check out we were greeted by smiles from all again and Jessica was delighted to hear we had enjoyed our stay.

A really warm and magical escape from it all. Recommended. Thank you Jessica and family.
