We just needed a bed for the night whilst visiting a friend on the island - this b&b hit the spot. It is quite pricey but you get top hotel facilities for your money plus a really friendly and engaging host.

A very convenient place to stay barely on Valentia Island (1st. house across bridge) The host was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and the bed slept great. The breakfast was well prepared and very good. Our only concern was the road was right by our room and with the unusually warm weather we had to have our window open and the noise from cars passing was annoying. We were also disappointed that there was no soap by the bath sink and no shampoo. We expect these things in 4 star B&B's.

Room Tip: Pick a room away from the road.

Stayed here with my hubby last Friday night. We were warmly welcomed by frances on our arrival. The bedroom was spotless and the bed very very comfy, breakfast was splendid with everything cooked to order so guaranteeing freshness, can highly recommend scrambled eggs with smoked salmon! Frances advised us what to do on Saturday and we had a marvelous day. The location of this guesthouse is breath taking, overlooking pretty portmagee village. All in all a lovely warm comfortable stay, we will be back.

Frances was very friendly, warm and welcoming with good advice on how to get the best out of our short stay. On arrival she offered us slices of home-made cake and kept us supplied with milk. All-in all an excellent host. As the apartment was not booked she offered it to us. It was spacious, clean and very comfortable with TV & radio. It felt like home from home. Good selection of food available for breakfast - can thoroughly recommend the scrambled eggs and salmon! The view across to Portmagee is great and the location ideal for exploring Valentia Island, the West side of Ring of Kerry and outlying islands.

No complaints whatsoever, will visit again and will certainly recommend to friends.

This modern house has a great view towards Portmagee, and is close to great walking around Valentia Island. Rooms are comfortable, not very spacious. Frances is consistently helpful, lively and full of interesting ideas to pursue. Location across from the wonderful Blasket Islands visitor centre is ideal.

The owner was extremely friendly when welcoming us in, and even gave us a couple of slices of homemade tea cake when we mentioned we were parched for tea! The room is spacious, with tea making facilities in the room, including little biscuits. The bed is comfortable, and the wifi is free. The location is within sight of the Skellig Experience center, and the view from the room over the water and the charming little town of Portmagee is spectacular. Can't report on breakfast yet, as we checked in a little while ago, but I didn't want to forget to write a review!

Spent one night. It was Lovely as a stop along the ring of Kerry.
House was nice and very clean. The lady of the house was very welcoming with a lovely omellette for breakfast.
Short walk across the bridge to the mainland and you have a lovely little pub with great food and a touristy type music Scene.
Amazing view from the top of Valentia island, weather permitting.
