A turf fire and a warm, cosy house can easily combat those dreary November evenings! We look forward to your next visit.

Lovely place to stay and visit the surroundings. Great offer of breakfasts with flexible times. The room was cosy and charming and we loved the fact that there was no tv as what we wanted was switching off.
The atmosphere was welcoming and well kept by Jackie. She kindly gave us a lot of information about the area and places to visit. She has the ability to mix antique and modern styles making the whole house an enjoyable place even when you don't do anything.

Room Tip: Room III and see the bathtub.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights in September. High quality, very spacious bedroom, modern bathroom and free-standing claw bath (at least in room 3). Very convenient location within easy walking district of the local pub and restaurants and more particularly to the shuttle ferry which in a 4 minute crossing will take you to the marvellous seafood restaurant, The Point, on the northern side of Valentia Island. Excellent breakfasts, very friendly and helpful hosts and a great base if you're wanting to cruise out to the Skelligs. Good value too but there were disappointments in the fact that our room was not serviced (not sure if this is standard or was oversight), there was just the one table for the 4 couples for breakfast (it is great to mix with other travellers but this is the only place where there was no choice and there was a honeymoon couple staying) and there was no tv. Overall, though, a very enjoyable stay.

It was good to read that you enjoyed your stay and went to some of our local restaurants to partake of fresh seafood.
At Atlantic Villa we offer our guests a menu to choose from offering choices using ingredients from our own garden, bees and hens. We also offer a choice of time to have breakfast, 8,00, 9.00 or 10.00 and we have been known to offer breakfasts later than this too. So if guests would like to dine alone they will be able to do so, eat what they wish at what ever time suits them, lots of choices.
We made a conscious decision not to have TV in the bedrooms as it fits with the relaxed, restful atmosphere we try to create at the house .Many of our guests have complimented us for this. There is TV available for our guests in our library.
Staying at a bed and breakfast as opposed to a hotel allows guests to have the benefit of a true Irish experience and see what is like to stay with a family in an Irish home, meeting other travelers and yet having time to relax and enjoy themselves as they wish.

This was the best bed and breakfast I staid at while on my 3 week vacation. Jackie and Brian were wonderful. The first night she waited up until 11:30pm for me to arrive. The hospitality was exceptional, and everyday they gave us information on what to see and where to go. The island was gorgeous! The breakfast portions were so big, and the food was so fresh and delicious. The other guests staying in the home were very friendly, we were able to meet some great couples. Jackie and Brian were so kind throughout our stay, and I will definitely be going back to Ireland just so I can get a chance to stay at Atlantic Villa again!

My mother and I were travelling around Ireland together for a few days, and she had never stayed in a B&B before and was a bit uncomfortable with the idea at first, but within minutes of arriving she loved this Inn. The setting is stunning, and the B&B itself is a beautiful old building.

We stayed in the top-floor room (under the sloping roof) which has two single beds. The beds are very comfortable and we slept soundly. The layout of the room was very practical with each bed tucked around a corner so that you have a bit more privacy and won't keep your travelling companion awake if you decide to do some reading before bed. The bathroom was cosy but very practically designed, and despite being on the top floor the shower had good water pressure and consistent hot water.

On the day we left we had a peek into some of the other rooms, and just like our room they were all beautifully decorated.

The breakfast was delicious. We had fresh yoghurt from a local dairy, toast with locally-made honey and jam, and a delicious cooked breakfast with fresh eggs from the island and sausage (which I think was locally produced as well). It was a hearty meal. We also appreciated that we could choose a time for breakfast from early until mid morning.

We also ordered packed lunches to take with us on a walk later that day, which were very good, as we'd come to expect by that point!

I'm normally a restless traveller who likes to keep moving from place to place, but I'd happily to go back to Atlantic Villas and not leave for several days.

Room Tip: We liked our top-floor room under the eves (two single beds), but I'd avoid it if you find climb...

I am so glad that your mothers first Bed and Breakfast experience was at our place and that she had such a positive experience. We designed that twin room with the privacy idea in mind and great that it works out in real life. We hope that you will come back for a return visit and stay longer the next time!

Recently, on the spur of the moment, I decided to take advantage of some fine weather and (at long last) visit Valentia Island the astounding Skellig Michael. Atlantic Villa looked like the perfect choice for a two-night stay, conveniently located in the charming village of Knightstown. However, I was blown away by the beauty of the place and the very warm & professional hospitality of our hosts, Brian & Jackie. The historic house has been lovingly refurbished with gorgeous bedrooms (I got a sneaky tour), interesting design details, antiques and artwork with fabulous views. The breakfasts were sumptuous and included their own honey, jams, smoked mackerel, and locally sourced produce. Brian & Jackie are a great team and obviously love to share their home and their local knowledge with their guests. The perfect B&B experience!!

At last you made it to Valentia Island. Now that you know what we are up to you will have to come back on your next break away. as we are open all year round.... Maybe a cliff walk and curl up later in front of a turf fire or enjoy the sauna and soak in a lavender or seaweed bath, Perhaps visit the spectacular Lighthouse if you come at a weekend or take a hike to enjoy the views from the top of Geokaun Mountain. We look forward to your next visit.
