“Ring of Kerry? Stay here!”
Reviewed May 5, 2013 via mobile

Every need we had was catered for, we only stayed one night but would almost plan a trip to Cahersiveen again to stay here and eat at the restaurant. The room was spacious, clean, modern and packed full of delighters such as the "rainforest" shower, espresso machine and iPod dock. The fridge was fully stocked with breakfast treats and after a night out a bag of fresh croissants greeted us hanging on the door. The meal we had the in the restaurant was top notch! If there was one tiny critisism it would be that the restaurant was not intimate and we were almost dining with other guests as opposed beside them. This however in no way took away from a truly 5 star stay!

Stayed here on recent trip to Ireland. Traveled with my daughter-in-law in a rental car. Just happened to be driving down Cahersiveen's main street while traveling the Ring of Kerry when we spotted an empty parking space in front of an enticing restaurant. We had a delicious meal sitting by the fire...actually it was an outstanding meal in a country already loaded with good, well-prepared food. The food was as good as what we ate at Ashford Castle a couple of nights earlier...and that was excellent.
While eating, we noticed a sign that rooms were for rent. Wary of what types of rooms might be available in such an historic area, I asked to see it first and was shown a beautiful spacious room that reminded me of southern France and Italy, with light wood, white painted walls, a fabric shopping bag hanging on a pegboard rack, beautiful china for our breakfast (which was brought to the room), an espresso machine, thick white towels, a roomy modern bathroom, and a small refrigerator neatly tucked into a "cubby-hole". The beds (wide extra-long twins that could be attached to form a king) were far more comfortable than an average hotel bed. In addition, there was a welcoming communal living area for all the guests to share and a lovely, covered outdoor sitting area. We didn't have the chance to use either of these since we arrived late and left early, but I plan to stay in this little town a little longer if I go back to Ireland--and who wouldn't want to if given that chance?!?--just so that I could take advantage of the accommodations and the surrounding village. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Our room was right beside the side street and was very quiet. We parked our car practically right o...

We stayed here last Summer and were impressed with the super modern and luxurious decorating. Definitely good value in that sense. The location is perfect for exploring Kerry. Parking is available in a lot out back, very nice. However, the room was very warm. Even with the windows open on both sides we could not get it cool. The weather outside was not at all warm. Also, the room was quite noisy from time to time. When the people staying upstairs used their bath tub in the middle of the night, it woke us up... We also could hear the next door neighbors having a conversation and then "getting it on". This lack of quiet does not really match the luxurious feel the place otherwise has. The breakfast was hung in a paper bag on the door at night. Good breakfast, but hardly any protein: juice, croissant, muffin, granola, fruit and yoghurt in fridge. There was no real personal contact with the owners. They seemed very busy. Overall a very pretty place to stay, but beware of a few things: climate control and noise.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Orange Room. Looks out on a side street, very light. Bath tub in room and separate...

Just had a great second stay at QC's this weekend. The accommodation cost €99 for a "deluxe room". the bed was very comfortable and the quality of the bathroom top class. Facilities to make coffee and tea. fridge in room. Breakfast was continental, with fresh croissants and muffins delivered to the outside of your door in the morning. the fridge had fresh fruit salads, apple and berry yogurt compotes , muesli was available. All beautiful. Downstairs there is a communal lounge/ seating area with a huge fire to enjoy each evening. great place to finish off drinks after your meal in the seafood restaurant. This leads out into a covered outside courtyard that seems Moroccan in style. There are tiered gardens beyond with further outside seating. All in all, a gem of a place. None of this would be visible from the frontage, so its a hidden gem.
The seafood restaurant downstairs has tables in the pub section also and was completely booked out for the evening so phone in advance. There is a lunch menu also. We shared Shrimp cocktail and sizzling crab claws accompanied by a beautiful bottle of Albarino €21 a bottle. The quality of the seafood is outstanding as the proprietors are also the owners of several fresh fish outlets and obviously get the pick of the catch!
Supper was the most perfect Pan seared Calamari and Baked Crabmeat for starters and then Baked Hake on bed of seafood rissotto and from the specials board, Black Sole on the bone. Berry crumble and a Frangelica/ Espresso Icecream. Finished off with a glass of house red Shiraz - a beauty.
I can't recommend this place highly enough. The quality of the food is first class, the chefs must be genius material, the rooms ideal and the host and hostess hardworking and affable.

Stayed one night this month. We arrived at around 4pm and we were kinda confused as the entry to the place is a pub and since it's quite early for a pub to be opened no one was in there. It took a couple of minutes until someone arrived and led us to our really lovely modern room. The room was gorgeous and I love the modern stuff in it. The bed is really comfortable, the toilet is spotlessly clean and the shower is the best. I also love the idea of the breakfast in the room so I don't have to get up early and prepare for breakfast. The location is right at the heart of town and just above the pub but couldn't hear any noise at all. A walking distance to the marina. We had dinner at the pub and just like what I read from the other reviews the food is heaven! Absolutely delicious. Since I'm about 5'4 I don't have problems with the low ceiling close to the bed but my boyfriend who's 6'2 bumped his head a few times but doesn't really matter. Overall the stay was brilliant and if ever we head back again in this part of Ireland we will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for one night recently. We didn't eat in the restaurant but had a few drinks in the bar and the atmosphere was lovely, and we will most definitely go back for a meal sometime. The rooms were amazing, very different. Fresh fruit, croissants and fresh fruit juices for breakfast were a nice touch!! Will be back again soon!

Stayed here for one night in January. The rooms are superb, very modern, cosy and the bed is one you won't want to leave. Kate and Andrew are most welcoming and the food in the restaurant is of the highest standard. If you are taking a tour around the ring of Kerry you should add QC's as a must stay. You won't be disappointed. Breakfast is not what you would usually expect. Fresh fruit salad and yogurt in the the fridge in your room, expresso coffee maker, granola and a bag with croissant and muffin left on you door handle. It was great but most likely not to everyone's taste.

If I am ever in this area again I will be looking forward to staying at QC's

Well done to the owners, Kate and Andrew, keep up the good work.
