Sea Breeze Bed and Breakfast

Certificate of Excellence

We stayed at the Sea Breeze as our last stop on a 2 week driving tour of the west coast of Ireland. The accomodation was clean and comfortable, although our room did lack storage space, which we would have found difficult if we had been staying longer. Ellis was a great hostess and her breakfasts were brilliant with a great choice on offer from traditional Irish to scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. We would certainly recommend this as a place to stay in Cahersiveen

This B&B , where we spent 1 night on 7th July 2012, is ideally situated for exploring the nearby Valentia Island – which is a must and the owner can provide full details of how to do this- and being close to the town centre, yet secluded.
The rooms are well equipped and perfectly comfortable and the breakfast – served in the sun room – is excellent. The village is a delightful place and a great stop whilst on the Ring of Kerry and the B&B is highly recommended.

Grand experience for any traveler, and especially for those of us traveling solo on our first trip to Ireland let alone to The Ring of Kerry. Eilis is as entertaining and enthusiastic as she is hospitable. Lovely, comfortable room; delicious baked treasures to accompany tea and fabulous breakfast; helpful suggestions for dinner just a healthy walk away; gorgeous views from the lovely and well-stocked-with-great-reads-conservatory. Grand location for exploring ring forts, Valentia Island, the Skelligs, etc. Be sure and ask about the Tetrapod.

Room Tip: Eilis shall fix you up with the perfect room.

Our party of two married couples, friends from England and Tasmania were having an adventure exploring Co. Cork and Kerry. In Bantry we were booked into Sea Breeze by the Information Centre -because it sounded nice and then a brief summary on the phone from Eilis sold it. We found it very nice indeed and extended our stay to a third night.

Among Sea Breeze highlights were Eilis's warm welcome and interest in us; the clean and tidy accomodation; afternoon tea and flapjack; really nice breakfast (home-made marmalade delicious); pleasant sun lounge; good location for exploring the locality; excellent value for money.

Eilis is very helpful and a good source of information e.g. for eating out. She booked us on the boat trip to Skellig St Michael - a high point of the adventure!

Room Tip: Our quiet groundfloor family room was very comfortable but without a view. For good views we could e...

We divided our drive through the Ring Of Kerry in 2 days and decided to stay in the small town of Cahersiveen. We came here with no expectations but left with one of the best experiences of our trip in Ireland.

It started with the Sea breeze B&B, our choice of accommodation for the day. We were instantly greeted by Tom and Ellis and received such a warm and friendly welcome. They are both very nice and very helpful with everything from restaurant recommendation to what activities to do in the area. They really go the extra mile to make sure that we have a nice visit in Cahersiveen.

We went to their website before booking but they had no pictures of their rooms so we were a bit worried, but then we were pleasantly surprised that the room was actually very nice with a beautiful view of the bay. They also have a cool guest lounge surrounded by glass with the same view.

The town "center" was walking distance away from the B&B with quite a few restaurants , cafes and bars to choose from. However, following trip advisors top 10 list we went to the No 5 Bistro and had one of the best meals we ever had! We did not expect such a wonderful gourmet experience in this small town but we are happy to be surprised and we will definitely stay in the Sea Breeze again and go fo number 5 Bistro for dinner!

The breakfast at the Sea breeze was very well cooked and Ellis let you choose whatever you want cooked the next day. Her brown bread was nice and soft. The jam was homemade and yummy. We couldn't ask for anything more.

By splitting our ring of kerry drive in 2 days the way we did, we avoided all the tour buses and had a mostly empty road in the morning. We highly recommend staying in Cahesiveen and the sea breeze B&B!
