We stayed over night here on a short trip around the Kerry Ring. Nice, clean hotel, good breakfast. It's not really within walking distance of town, but the on-site restaurant had good food and service.

Each year I take a group of students to Ireland for a community journalism project. The Sneem Hotel becomes our home for 7-9 days while we work. We then travel throughout the rest of Ireland as tourists.

Inevitably, after we leave Sneem and have been on the road for a few days, my students talk about how much they miss the village and our home base, the Sneem Hotel. The employees at the Sneem Hotel become such an important part of our overall experience. Not only are they helpful, professional, and welcoming in every sense, but they become friends and people we hope to spend time with again on future trips. The hotel's owner, Louis Moriarty, and his manager, Nikola Duggan, have put together an amazing team of people who represent Sneem, County Kerry, and really all of Ireland in the best possible ways.

The location is stunning, and the hotel boasts some of the best food and drink I've had the pleasure to experience in the country. Specifically, ask the hotel's best bartender, Ian, to make you an Irish coffee. It's the best I've had. And when ordering from the menu in the hotel restaurant, try the amazing desserts, which are not only delicious, but also quite artfully presented. I cannot recommend this hotel strongly enough. It is definitely my home away from home.

We were in Sneem, this past May to attend a wedding. This is our 2nd time at the hotel. They were easy to communicate with by email, so reservations were easy to make. We had to change our reservation for an apartment from 3 days to 5, not a problem. Beautiful location, great staff & very clean. Highly recommended!!

Stayed in the apartments in the Sneem Hotel complex last weekend and found the place really nice overall.
The Apartment was nicely furnished (no AC which was missed due to the unusually warm weather last weekend) and had plenty of room. House keeping didn't quite have the place spotless and the stock of plates, cups and cutlery was a bit sparse for a 2 bed unit but that really didn't affect our enjoyment of the apartment.
The hotel itself is nice but could be fantastic if a little more attention was paid to the décor in the lounge and restaurant. The staff were friendly and the views are just superb.
Food was really good in the lounge and the selection of wine and drinks was excellent.
As per some of the previous reviews....beware the midges at sunset, they are relentless and its just not possible to sit and enjoy the stunning views from the terrace much past 8pm on a summers evening, which is a real pity but not any fault of the hotel management.
Sneem itself is a nice little village with some good pubs and some really nice food.
Overall, I'd certainly come back to the hotel and would have no problem recommending it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in this area.

Overall, this hotel is good; reasonably newly built in a beautiful location and setting, plenty of parking, impressive reception area, friendly and efficient check-in staff, spacious bedrooms with a spacious bathroom even in the standard rooms, very clean throughout and well kept. The restaurant on the ground floor however is a little disappointing; the room is more like a function room, and mirrors the equally plain room on the other side of bar, which is the lounge. The same menu is served in the restaurant as in the bar; the restaurant menu advertised on the website was not the same as the menu given on the night we dined there. The standard of food was average-good and the service was good. The self serve buffet breakfast is good but I would have expected table service in a 4 star hotel.
This hotel could be an amazing 5 star resort with some investment in better furnishings and interior design in the bedrooms, a professional bar and restaurant fitout, improved restaurant menu and utilities to make the best of its waterside location.
However, it's still a lovely, modern, well kept, clean hotel in a beautiful location, run by professional and friendly staff.

Room Tip: The balcony rooms look great

My wife and I stayed here for four days last week. This is without a doubt one of the best hotels in Ireland. We upgraded to a superior with a sea view. The room was clean, very large, with the most comfortable bed. The view can only be described as stunning with the sea inlet and mountains in the backdrop. We used the restaurant twice for dinners, not fine dining but good honest food and a superb wine list. Buffet breakfast was quality with continental and full Irish. Staff were all well trained and professional and a joy to talk to and have fun with. Hotel has ample safe car parking with a ten minute walk into the village of Sneem
The whole experience was relaxed and efficient and tremendous VALUE for Money . We will be back.

Room Tip: Up grade to a superior sea view.
