We ended in Tarbert after a long bicycle ride. In Main Street we asked the locals where to stay.
Their answer was unanimus "Keldun House", because the owners are very freindly people.
And indeed they are very friendly, ask anything and they try to make you happy!!

A beautiful home, gracious hosts. Spacious room. Pat & Bernadette treat you like friends: wine on the deck, access to the kitchen and parlors, good conversations.

Through my journey's through Ireland, I have had the opportunity to stay at a number of nice B&B's, but out of all of them, none of them compare to the "home" like atmosphere that Pat and Bernadette provide. From the moment you walk through the door and have your keys handed to you, you immediately get the sense of becoming a part of their family. As for the accommodations, impeccable! The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bed was equally comfortable, I slept like a baby! :) Hats off to Pat and Bernadette, The Keldun House set the standard for B&Bs for Europe!

Super stay just minutes away from the Shannon Ferry. Bernadette and Pat were super hosts! He even got my laptop working. Super quiet room with beautiful natural wood flooring. Breakfast was perfect the next morning. Felt like being invited into their home. Great dinner at the pub next door. Really nice stay.

The people who own Keldun House are absolutly great ! Genuine and with a very interesting life history. The town is simple and not at all touristy; we had dinner at a place that reminded me of small town America in about 1960, which was neat. The house is pleasant; the room was fine, nothing fancy. Nice sitting room for guests. If you ned to come to Tarbert to catch the ferry, this is the place you should stay.

On our first night of our first visit to Ireland, we stayed at Keldun House as a matter of convenience - to get aways down the road from Shannon enroute to our stay in Killarney.

What an excellent introduction to Irish people, hospitality and the country's B&Bs! Owners Bernadette and Pat could not have been more friendly and helpful. The property is charming, clean and well appointed. And, the breakfast was excellent - full Irish, supplemented with fresh fruit, yogurt and cereals.

We stayed in several other B&Bs during our trip. While the other B&Bs were perfectly suitable, Keldun House was and is our measuring stick for Irish B&Bs! We look forward to another visit.

We recently spent a week going all over the southern half of Ireland, staying in a different B&B each night, all in the 33-36 euro/pp sharing range. All but one were good, and we were on the whole quite satisfied. There was one, however, that stood out in all areas -- Keldun House in Tarbert. Our room was very large and beautifully decorated, and the rest of the house was very classy. The owner, Bernadette, couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. Each of our B&B's advertised a similar breakfast -- a choice of full Irish breakfast or other menu choices -- but the breakfast served at Keldun House was tops. Everything was cooked perfectly, and there were several "extras" like a fruit bowl for those wishing fresh fruit with their Irish breakfast. The establishment is located right on the main street in the village of Tarbert, but it was very quiet. With the lovely garden out back as the view from the dining room, you tended to forget you were right in town. But it was quite convenient when we wanted to go walking to see the town.
