Stopped here on our way to play golf at Waterville. I first thought, oh no, another tourist trap, but after paying a measly 5 Euros, I was taken back to a time in Ireland that is all but forgotten. The village had houses that were filled with furniture and implements of the times. Some of the cottages were burning peat in their fireplaces adding to the authenticity of the whole place. Don't need much time to explore but when stopping for an Irish coffee at the Red Fox Inn make a point to go inside this living museum.

Stopped off here on our trip of the Ring of Kerry.
Entrance fee was 10E I think and then we got .50E off an Irish coffee.
Lovely village showing some old fashioned items, unfortunately it was raining.
Still very interesting and worth a visit

Stopped here with tour group. Interesting little museum, displaying an earlier time when peat was cut by hand. Period cottages displaying tools and furniture of that time. Nice welcome with a great Irish coffee. The 2 Irish wolfhounds on sight aren't really keen on being petted unless you give them some bacon! It's a small venue but quite interesting and I would recommend stopping in if you are by there. Quite worth the 5 euros admission price. I enjoyed it.

Enjoyed this place especially the Red Fox Inn but were a little disappointed in the place compared to 13 years ago - seemed more run down - not as well kept as we remembered and certainly could not compare to Muckross Traditional Farms. Still liked the smell of the peat burning but upkeep could have been better. One of the dogs was very snarly.

We were told to visit this place next to the Red Fox pub between Killorglin and Glenbeigh.

A great deal of time and effort has gone in to recreating the cottages and it's amazing that this was not so long ago that the people lived such an existence.

Nice meal in the Red Fox as well.

Try to visit when there are no coaches on the Car Park
