Description: Jacks Coastguard Restaurant is a landmark building overlooking Rossbeigh and Inch Peninsula in the seaside village of Cromane between Kilorglin & Glenbeigh on the Ring of Kerry route. Nestled against the Atlantic Ocean, enjoy panoramic sea and mountain views in one of Kerrys Top Restaurants recently named Best Seafood Restaurant in Ireland by well respected foodie Georgina Campbell as well as listings with Bridgestone & Michelin Guides. The Station Bar and Coastguard Restaurant successfully combine old world charm with modern elegance.Guests can linger over a drink in the bustling Station Bar or enjoy the soft tones of the piano through the restaurant by our resident pianist JP Murphy. Only the finest and freshest of seafood is used to create dishes that would rival the most discerning of palate. Signature dishes such a Cromane Mussels, Tiger Prawns or perfectly seared Scallops should not be missed. For the unwilling seafood diner, our succulent Fillet of Beef should suffice nicely.

I'm always up and down to Kerry but I was coming from glenbeigh when I saw the sign for "jacks". It was absolutely amazing for lunch, with a view of the sea. The only thing I would say is put a sign before the bridge to glenbeigh for " jacks" with the view ye have, cause I wouldn't have known other wise and I would strongly recommend it. Well one.

We ate here on Saturday night; there was a nice atmosphere with the piano in the background. The menu is strongly seafood based but that is to be expected for the location. The service was friendly and the food excellent. The main courses came with various accompaniments of potatoes which were appreciated by the potato lovers in the group. Toward the end of the night the musician sang songs that that had most customers singing along (songs from the 60’s and 70’s and some trad). The restaurant is a little pricey but good value for money if you include the whole package of food, service, entertainment and location.

We had dinner here over the holidays and were delighted with everything. It was a typical charming cold, wet and gale force windy Irish night so views out the window were not an option! But, I'm led to believe, given its proximity to teh ocean, are worth seeing. We arrived on time, our table was ready and so we were denied the opportunity to linger in the rustic pub that fronts the dining room. Next time I will arrive suitable early. The transition into the restaurant was pleasantly surprising, since the restaurant area is of modern design. The menu was dominated by sea food, but there were steak, chicken and vegetarian choices. We all went with the freshly caught fish choices and they were excellent.

Prices were on the north side of moderate, but good value for the money spent. Noise levels were perfect, enough for atmosphere, but no much that we had difficulty hearing each other.

There was live piano music while we were there, and a well known act was settting up as we were leaving.

I'll be back in July for the view, food and some pre-game cocktails.

Jacks Coastguard Restaurant is without a doubt my favourite place to eat! A place my wife and i have gone to for Birthdays and a christening! The staff are very knowledgable and the food is something else! Obviously given it's location, there's a lean towards seafood but what seafood it is!

It's always heading overthere a little early too to sample a pint of the black stuff in the bar first!
