wonderful hotel 5 minutes drive from Shannon Airport and 5 minutes from Bunratty Castle. (20mins limerick city)
We were on a weekend break from dublin. we checked in about 4pm and was met by a very friendly and helpful lady on reception. we were given a room on the first floor which we found after walking down some lovely long corridors which were beautifully decorated with lovely carpets and decorated walls which were adorned with framed photo's of airplanes and aviation releted items. we went up a very old affect staircase to find our room.
we opened our door to the room to find a large bedroom with a double bed in it. there was room for a second double bed. there was a large flat screen television which was also connected to a multi media centre. a kettle for tea and coffee. large wardrobe and chest of draws. we were very happy with the room.
we ate both nights in the hotel resteraunt. the food was wonderful and plentyful. so much so we couldn't finish our deserts on the first night as there was to much food. staff very friendly.
we had drinks in the bar and well decorated and the bar staff very friendly.
we would stay here again when in the area.

Room Tip: ask for a room upstairs at the back........

This is a good first - last place to stay if you're flying into or out of SNN. What I found good (in particular) was all the free extras...parking, WIFI, newspaper etc...considering the price. Staff were charming and the rooms spotless. It's five minutes from Bunratty castle which is cool.

We stayed here for 1 night in July 2012. This is a nice place to stay if you are flying out of Shannon Airport for location and price. The hotel is huge!! It feels like miles of hallways to get to your room. Make sure to get a good description of where your room is upon check-in. The hotel staff was very friendly and they placed us in a huge suite for the price of a standard room. The room was wonderful with a huge bathroom, sitting area, king size bed, and balcony. The one negative was a creepy framed picture next to our bed of a ghostly looking farm girl starring down at you while you were sleeping. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and would recommend it.

Have stayed here on a number of occasions over the last 10 years due to having family in the area. The hotel has the potential to be lovely but is now starting to look a bit tired with marked walls above radiators, chipped paintwork etc. This time I had a ground floor room facing onto two internal unused courtyards. One side was fine but the other was just a clutter of equipment, a ladder and rubble - half and hour would have tidied it up, just not good to look out on. Service was fine. The hotel bar is a proper pub used by the locals. Ate breakfast, lunch and dinner. All fine. Breakfast lacks some choice e.g. only full cream milk provided but generally good. Lots of interesting flight related memorabilia on the corridor walls which my sons loved. Stayed in a triple room - website says there is no room for an additional rollaway in this type but I found it really spacious and think there would be plenty of space to add one to make this room useable by a family of four.

We got a deal for this hotel so it was great value. The breakfast and dinner staff were very good although at times under pressure. The room was lovely but extremely warm despite no heating on.

The bar staff however really let the hotel down. They were very slow and uncoordinated as a team. The blonde lady was good but the remaining staff were all over the place, You could be waiting 5-10 minutes to be served even though the bar was quiet. The cocktail menu looked good but when I requested a cocktail it was obviously putting the staff out and a bar manager had to be called in to make it. We sat up in the residents bar for a while one night and the one staff member told me that cocktails are not available after hours. It was obvious he just couldnb't be bothered.

So overall a nice building and good value but a bit of training for the staff could do a lot for this place.

Stayed here with boardsdeal voucher.
Staff were very nice and friendly at check-in. Hotel is not in particularly nice/scenic area and looks onto the carpark and main road.

Our room was ok but the bathroom was gross. It was so damp and the bath was black with mouldy tiles. Really, we should have just drove home. It was horrible to take a shower here and I couldn't wait to go home and feel clean again.

The bar food was decent but the resturant was barely edible. My fish was soggy and I suspect heated in microwave. Steak was ok but over cooked. Main course was served with generic boiled veg which was so disappointing. The service wasn't great, in contrast to the efficient friendly service in the bar. The breakfast wasnt nice - I've had nicer from a garage service station.

I would not want to stay here again and it has really taught me to speak up at the time. My main regret is that we didn't just drive straight home.
