I think most people stay at an airport hotel is because of it's convenience to the airport and the need for a good nights sleep before their flight. the hotel itself is fine, very close to the airport. rooms are pretty clean with some issues (thick layer of dust between the bed and the wall and mold in the bathroom), pub has decent food, free wifi and parking, but the sleep quality is compromised by paper thin doors. We were able to hear everything and everyone in the hallway at all hours of the night. Not a good nights sleep at all.

This hotel is the closest thing you'll find in Ireland to an old American motel. It is definitely a little tired, and the olde worlde wood trim throughout looks rather silly, but it is a perfectly adequate place to stay if you have an early morning flight.

The room was large with lots of storage space and the most modern TV set up we had our entire trip (movies on demand and video games!). There was coffee/tea making equipment but no in room safe.

The beds were rather hard, so I'm glad we weren't staying more than 1 night. Normally the place would have been quiet, unfortunately we were there on a Saturday night and there was a 200 guest wedding on premises. We had to fight through these guests to get a pint at the bar. We actually had a good laugh people watching (you would not believe some of the ridiculous outfits, but that's another story). The music from the wedding party was loud and we had trouble sleeping until it finally stopped at about 2 a.m. I advise weekend guests to inquire about large parties booked for that date.

I should mention that very close by the hotel is the Sky Court shopping center with 60 outlet stores. It was already closed by the time we arrived, but may be worth a look. If you need an ATM there's one on the outside of the mall near the Texaco station. I'm not sure of the hours of that place, but the gas station next to the hotel is open 24 hours so is convenient for last minute rental car fill ups. The drive from the hotel to the airport is less than 10 minutes.

We had dinner at Gallagher's restaurant in nearby Bunratty, and would highly recommend it. (JP Clarke's next door is a little more casual). We enjoyed some of the best food of our trip.

Our family stayed here on our first night in Ireland for vacation, as we arrived to the Shannon airport. I could see from the reviews that it wasn't a 5-star property, however I found it to be very friendly and comfortable, with great food in the restaurant.

All of the staff were friendly; reception, housekeeping, restaurant, etc. Our family suite room was double sized and spacious, and the beds were clean and comfortable. Carpets and furnishings are a little dated and worn, but that's reflected in the room rate which I thought was reasonable.

Breakfast was fine, served in a bright room with a skylight.

Across the street is a small local mall for groceries, bank, food, and other shopping.

If I need to be in Shannon again in the future, I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: Try dinner in the restaurant

Stayed our last night in Ireland. Very close to the airport. Family of five adults and we stayed in the "family room" Gigantic room with four beds and plenty of space. Hotel has lots of charm and air force memorabilia. The bar was packed and lively. We had the best fish & chips of our trip by the large fireplace.
I would definitely recommend staying here if you are flying out of Shannon. We were only in town from 8PM to 8AM, so can;t really say what is near the hotel. But the bar and food were a great ending to our trip.
Very cheap internet rate for a room for five adults

This hotel is a good choice for Shannon Airport.
It has the advantage of a good location, quiet and free parking.
The staff was attentive and friendly, food was good value.
The rooms are spotless, free Wifi is a plus.
I would stay here again.
