This is a rather large B&B in the center of Clifden. I chose it because most places in November have closed for the season. The place was basic with fairly cold rooms, outdated furnishings, small/thin towels and some mold on the walls. But the rooms were also spacious enough and clean and the hosts were friendly. The sitting room looks out onto the street but was a great place to sit by the fire on a cold, icy day. Breakfast was basic but with plenty of food. I'd say there are other places in Clifden better than Kingstown, but if you need a place to stay, or are on a pretty low budget, this place is fine.

Stayed here in November for 3 nights. Highly recommended, very friendly and helpful owners. Clean and warm B and B and best of all pancakes with maple syrup is an option for breakfast!! Delicious. Easy to park Nice decor. Will be returning.

We stayed one night in Kingston house, and were very happy with it. Our hosts were very friendly & welcoming, the room was comfortable, the breakfast tasty - and extra points for having lots of choice !! One slight remark, there was a slight damp smell as you went upstairs, but you don't notice it in the rooms. All in all, a perfectly good B&B, at a good price

Me & my sister were recommended Kingstown House by the local tourist information office & we weren't disappointed. Value for money is unbelievable compared to some of the other places we stayed during our stay in Ireland. The proprietors were really friendly and excellent cooks too. They have a lounge with tea, coffee etc guests can make use of. The rooms are really clean and the beds very comfortable. The position in Clifden is convenient for all local shops, restaurants, pubs and walks. A free car park is close by too. Clifden itself is a great place from which to explore Connemara & we will definitely stay at Kingston House again whenever we return to the area. Fantastic!!!

We planned on staying somewhere along the Sky Road. However, after touring it, we saw that there are no pubs out there. So we drove back into Clifden town center. It seemed like there were dozens of B&B's to choose from. Luckily, I had made note of the Kingstown House due to good reviews here on TA. Regina greeted us and showed us a room with three beds (sometimes tough to find at a B&B). After some conversation I learned that she grew up in that house and after some time spent in the U.S., she moved back to Clifden to take over the business from her parents. She was happy to share some local history of Clifden and I really enjoyed the talk. The Kingstown House is on a side street right off the town center. It's a perfect quiet location but steps from shopping, pubs, etc. Street parking is no problem. Regina turned us on to a great local pub called "Lowry's" where we enjoyed a bit of the craic until 3am. In the morning, a cooked to order, traditional, Irish breakfast helped clear the cobwebs and send us on our way. Real coffee too! From her time spent in the States, Regina knows Americans generally don't like the instant stuff (which is all over Ireland). It's hard to imagine a better stay. I spent 10 days in Ireland at hotels and B&B's. The Kingstown House was my favorite.

Before we left Doolin, Maeve at Churchfield B&B recommended we stay at Kingstown when we travel through Clifden. We gave them a call enroute and found the accommodation both warm and hospitable. My friend had two large suitcases and John helped us with the bags. The breakfast which was "on order" was delicious and the homemade bread was one of the best I have tasted. The room was spacious and beds comfortable. It was a very clean establishment. Will definitely stay again in the future. It was a great location and only a short walk away from my favourite jeweller, O'Dalaigh as well as a variety of restaurants and pubs. Both Regina and John were most accommodating. Although parking is metered, we were able to have free parking outside the door as free parking is from 6 pm to ll am.

What a great find - Jim and Regina are so hospitable. Their B&B is in a great location for walking to pubs, shopping and enjoying the lovely town of Clifden. The room was spacious and cozy. We spent our first night in Ireland at the Kingstown and it set a great standard, which was sometimes hard to live up to! With Jim helping us park, and Regina helping us jump start our dead car, we cannot say enough great things. They go all the way! Thanks Jim & Regina! We hope to visit again soon!!!
