We stayed one night in mid-April, 2013. We chose Ben View because of its Lonely Planet rep for accepting bicyclers, but were not prepared for the warm reception and delightful decor of family antiques. The large, rain-shower type shower head was a morning joy and the breakfast our favorite so far in Ireland skipping the customary "irish" breakfast and going for porridge and thick, crepe-like pancakes. Heat (a cold April) and quilts were more than adequate. Eileen was a wonderful hostess and provided an impeccably clean home. An Indian restaurant, the Basmati, was a welcome change from Irish fare at a more economical rate, with excellent flavor

We stayed one night in Ben View House in March 2013 and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were shown all rooms available and then free to choose the one which best suited us. The double room was spacious, pleasantly d fitted and the beds very comfortable.
The free Wifi and the very central location are a plus too.
The breakfast was just amazing and Desmond and Eileen did their best to look after us and make us feel very welcome. We would definitely stay there again!

We stayed here for three nights over Easter and had a wonderful time. We were greeted by Desmond who is an incredibly welcoming host, and served up some of the best pancakes I've ever had! Our room was incredibly comfortable and warm- a welcoming contrast to the bitter weather. Cliften is a lovely town set in some extraordinarily beautiful scenery, and Ben View is an ideal place to base yourself whilst you explore the countryside - I thoroughly recommend it!

We stayed at the Ben View house on Easter weekend. We hadn't booked any room and we were warmly welcomed by Desmond late at night.
Clifden is a great location to explore the beautiful region and Ben View House has that very homy, cute and warm feel. We were very impressed by the cleanliness of the place, plenty of silver dishware and decorations that had no dust on. The dining room was cosy and full of light.
Our room (#2) was unfortunately a bit cold.
The breakfast is lovely, and Desmond and his sister Eileen made us feel home from the beginning. We hadn't planned any route and they helped us with a map and good tips on where to go - we had a great time. We will back and will tell everyone about this lovely home! Thank you Eileen and Desmond, you made our trip an unforgettable one.

This is a wonderful B & B! Desmond was an enthusiastic and friendly host and he served one of the best breakfasts we have had in Ireland. The dining table was set with fine china and silver and it was obvious how much thought the proprietors put into making their guest feel at home during their stay. The room was large and impeccably clean with a very comfortable bed, wonderful pillows and fine linens. It is a fine place to stay while in Clifden Ireland.
