“Charming Bed & Breakfast in a lovely location”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

The location is a bit of a challenge to find at first, but it is only 5 minutes drive from the center of Clifden. It's a somewhat secluded location which only adds to the charm of the bed and breakfast. It is a beautiful old Georgian style home overlooking Clifden Harbor. The facility is extremely well maintained, and is steeped in history. Kathleen and her daughter Siobhan take immense pride in their delivery of service to their clientele. We had the family room which is located directly when you walk into the main door. It was a perfect room with two double beds and private bath en suite. It was fine for one evening for my wife and I and our two children 16 and 20. The dining room was very nice, and the breakfast options varied and were very nicely prepared. We thoroughly enjoyed our one evening stay and highly recommend Mallmore Country House and the town of Clifden! Hope to see you again soon.

Simply a gorgeous Country House for an outstanding cheap price! Located above Clifden Bay, with lovely grounds, woodland and it's own path down to the bay, simply a stunning setting. The house itself was lovingly renovated and the hosts are very welcoming and helpful. In the evening we enjoyed a cup of tea in the large sitting room, browsing through books or playing a board game.

Simply the best place to stay in Clifden!

Last year we stayed at Mallmore for one night.................. and this year we stayed for two because we loved it so much. This, to us, is the ideal family-run B&B; friendly, attentive and unfailingly helpful owners, characterful building, beautiful setting. The rooms are lovely and large and well appointed and the breakfast is really excellent. In short everything that should be there WAS there. Congrats and thanks, to Kathleen and Siobhan (not forgetting the builder of the Great Wall of Clifden!)

We were able to have a reservation for one night at this delightful B&B as it was booked out for later nights. We stayed with German friends, who were enthralled with the charm of the house, the exquisite appointment of the bedrooms and the gardens, leading down to the lake. The owners, who run the house, are friendly and attentive. We are definitely planning to return and we do not hesitate to recommend it very warmly to others.

Spectacular B & B in a historic mansion.
The house is located in a private park, on a promontory overlooking the sea.
Our room was very spacious, clean and luxuriously furnished, with a splendid view of the garden and the sea.
I recommend having a walk in the woods and get to the "bench of the bishop", where you can see the whole bay!
Good and plentiful breakfast.
highly recommended

Our family of three spent two nights in Connemara last week. One of them was at Mallmore. We stayed in a triple room(1 queen bed and 1 twin). The room was very large and included a sitting area overlooking the gardens in the back yard. After staying in several B&B's over the course of the week, this one is definitely on the nicer end of the scale. We really enjoyed the pathways in the back of the house/through the woods that led to some great views of the harbor. The property is a 2 minute drive to the Clifden town center where there are plenty of pubs/restaurants/shops. We also spent a night at the Ardmore House. We preferred Ardmore because of its location along Sky Road which offered better scenery.

rooms were generously proportioned with a quiet sitting area for reading or having a glass of wine.
Our room had a corkscrew and bottle opener, so helpful, thanks, they let me use their washing line, thanks.
breakfasts were stunning, really excellent.
Guest lounge had tea making facilities, books and a wonderful atmosphere.
