Nice enough room, honestly the bathroom and shower were a bit small, as was the room. But being with Cathleen and Michael made up for any of that. We loved meeting their ponies, picking eggs and being on the farm. Breakfast was terrific and their hospitality was beyond explanation. The warmest, friendliest B&B experience in Ireland - my 4 year old asked if uncle Michael could take us to the chickens. It felt like we were home.

Excellent place to stay if you're visiting Connemara. Cathleen welcomed us and offered wonderful advice on places to visit and things to see. Our room was VERY spacious, comfortable, and clean. There were many breakfast selections and all of them were delicious. We enjoyed visiting the town of Clifden and the surrounding countryside is very beautiful.

We tried to find a special place to stay for the last night during our trip in Ireland. Definitely we found the right one. The owner offered us to stay in the family room, which was lovely and comfortable. The sea is close, the area is relaxing. Moreover we asked the owner about good restaurants in the city, so on the basis of her suggestion, we had the best dinner during our Irish trip in Clifden as well.

We recently stayed at Faul House on a short tour around Connemara and were all delighted with our choice. I have worked as a guide and travelled extensively in Ireland and have probably stayed in 100 B&B's over the years. This one is right up there in the top league! The owners were so nice and welcoming, the rooms nice and comfortable, the breakfast outstanding.

We had booked Faul House as they were one of only a handful of places we found in the West of Ireland were dogs were allowed. We were travelling with a 15-month old Irish doodle and this was his first trip and overnight away from home. He loved it. The rooms reserved for pet-owners are near the back door so that you can get in and out without any hassle and without disturbing anyone else. There are wooden floors so the rooms are easily cleaned to make sure they are spotless for the next visitors. The house is situated on a very quiet road that leads down to the sea, ideal for a little stroll in the evening and before breakfast. On our way down to the sea we met a horse and her new foal, three donkeys and on the way up the pregnant pony in the front garden .... which was actually not supposed to be there and was quickly lured away by the landlady ;-)

This is actually the first time I have posted on tripadvisor, but we were so impressed with our stay, I just wanted to say thank you this way. Go there - you'll love it.

My daughter and I just returned from a very beautiful stay at The Faul House, near Clifden, in Connemara. I had found The Faul House online, and after reading everything they had to offer I immediately made our reservations. Upon our arrival we found that The Faul House held everything their website had promised, which is rather uncommon these days. Our Hosts, Cathleen and Michael Conneely, welcomed us almost as family. Our room had all the accommodations one could hope for: comfortable, clean, and made us feel right at home. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and was presented with equal taste, as each dish was arranged beautifully, while still maintaining that "home cooked" feel. All of their ingredients, for cooking and otherwise, were supplied by their fully functional farm and greenhouse. My daughter is greatly interested in horses, as she rides them regularly, so when we heard that the Conneelys bred Connemara ponies, we were even more excited to stay with them. They allowed my daughter to care for horses as well as assist them in caring for the foals. In total, they had 10 ponies: 6 mares(one of which was a much smaller pony), 3 foals, and a little stallion named Sooty. Our stay was five days, which allowed us to observe all the people of different cultures and origin every morning at breakfast. The guests would also seek advice from our hosts on where to visit, which sites to see, etc. The ambiance of the Faul House was so much like home, and Cathleen and Michael were so welcoming! We very much look forward to returning!

This is the most welcoming house I have ever stayed in, so homely and comfortable. The lady of the house Kathleen was there to greet myself and my husband when we arrived, giving us such a nice welcome. The room we stayed in was bright and spacious and catered for all our needs. We stayed for three nights and I particularly enjoyed Kathleen's smoked salmon breakfast, such a big menu to choose from. We were looking for some ideas as to where to go and what to do and Kathleen's local knowledge was invaluable. I would recommend faul house to anyone visiting the cliffen area and we intend to return next year without doubt.

We had a great time here, especially walking down through the historic family property to the sea, petting the miniature horse and mare with a new foal. We had fun collecting eggs for a really good breakfast topped off by Michael's stewed rhubarb. Delightful people, clean and comfortable place. Kathleen guided us to some special walks and wonderful places to see. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay here again. Kudos to Kathleen and Michael as great hosts.
