“Music after Dinner”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2013

We went to hear some authentic Irish music after eating dinner at another restaurant. The place was packed with mostly locals who we struck up conversation with. The bartenders were friendly even though they were busy. The music was in the back room, which was too crowded for us to wedge in to. It appeared to be a "jam session" but was very authentic Irish music. We sat at the bar and had a lovely time while enjoying a couple of pints.

“Nice Music Evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 18, 2013 via mobile

Decided to see what Lowry's had to offer by way of music in the evening and was not disappointed. Spot on 10pm "Pete & Lee" ?? A mature combo of talented gentlemen. One playing the guitar, harmonica and great vocals, the other on trad Irish squeeze box (melodeon) (and also red Accordion). Great Craic over a few pints and well into the late evening. Audience was 90% tourists from all over. Many could not have understood a word but that didn't matter. Great time by all.

Comfortable seating in lovely lounge

Worth noting that ALL our drinks were cheaper here than opposite in Coneelys Bar dead opposite! (Don't forget a half of beer is not half the price of a pint but an extra 50cents!)

The music. The bar. The people. This bar is what you're looking for in Ireland. We had the time of our lives there.

“unexpected charm”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

We arrived late Sunday night and visited with Doogle O'Brien, the bar tender, and a farmer visiting for the Connemara pony show. We came looking for music, but they don't have it Sunday night. Instead, we found lots of stories and easy Irish charm that made Clifden feel welcoming.
