We didn't think that it would live up to our expectations after reading previous reviews but it did and more. It had everything you could possibly want and the breakfast was amazing. The location would have been an issue if we both wanted a drink with our meal but it didn't bother us and they have a lovely cliff walk made out.

John and Kathy were so hospitable. The room was very clean and cozy. Breakfast was delicious. A short walk out the back and you were at the ocean- with Shetland ponies along the path. We definitely would recommend this place!

Kathy and John's beautiful home on the glorious Sky Road just out of Clifden is a wonderful find for anyone visiting the West coast of Ireland. The warm hospitality, immaculately clean and elegant home, beautiful breakfast (including numerous fruit salads), large and finely furnished rooms, and breathtaking walk way to the sea add up to an unforgettable stay. And there are even three grazing Shetland ponies enroute to the cliffs!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Ardmore House a few weeks ago. The location is outstanding, and the house and rooms are extremely clean. It was the only "house-style" B&B that we stayed in during our trip, and I have to say that it did not feel too much like "someone's house" at all. Which for us was a positive.

Our bedroom was very ample in size and again, I cannot stress how clean it was. We had a king/queen bed (one of the only ones we encountered in Ireland) and it was very comfortable.

We had a very nice tea setup in our room. They also had a nook downstairs with a public guest fridge, and all sorts of things you may need such as electrical adapters, extra glasses etc...

We slept very well and enjoyed the large widows that opened up to allow in the ocean breeze. We never heard other doors or people in adjacent rooms, even though they were full.

The path that they have made leading out to the ocean and cliffs was truly unique and definitely worth taking the 10 minutes to walk up it, to take in the coastline. Had it not been lightly raining when we arrived, it would have been the ideal location for a picnic.

We were able to get a cab ride into town for dinner and drinks. It was 10 euro. The restaurant selection in Cliffden is a bit odd. Basically every restaurant serves slight variations of the same menu. We joked that perhaps a kitchen was parked in the middle of the block of buildings that serviced all of the restaurants around it. It is a charming town, but I am not sure how much there is to do. We caught some really excellent music at E.J. Kings on the corner.

Breakfast was delightful. I enjoyed the smoked salmon which was the perfect size and my husband had the Irish breakfast, which was very nice. They had a simple spread of cold items that was nice.

I would definitely return if we happen to be in the Clifden area in the future!

None of the pics do this place justice. It was as nice as any of the five star hotels I have stayed in. The rooms were gorgeous, bathrooms to die for. Breakfast fantastic. Towel warming racks, wifi, and a computer for guests to use. Setting is breathtaking. Loved town of Clifden. The hosts are gracious and lovely. When can I come back?
