A night of classic Irish music in a charming town such as Clifden is a recipe for success. The Arts Festival was in full swing and there was great spontaneous dancing, and other musicians joining in to add to the celebration. Well worth it, we were sorry the night had to end.

Just wish we had stayed in Clifden so we could have visited all the pubs and heard the music at night. We stopped at Griffin's for a late lunch after visiting Kylemore Abbey. The food was excellent and service prompt. We had fish stew and fish/chips. All was very good.

When in Connemara, go to Clifden and seek out the true hospitality, great craic and ambience of Griffins Bar. The owner, 'big Dave' and his 'crew' provide a NO NONSENSE authentic irish experience with great food, a fine sense of humour coupled with a range of great whiskeys and beers, including probably the best guinness around. Dont miss this experience and dont just take my word for it - get yerself over there and enjoy! Jenny P, Co Down

We visited Clifden and loved the town and area. We wandered around and decided to go into Griffins bar. What a great decision. Unexpectedly it was a music festival in Clifden, although we were told the entertainment is typical.
Two young talented guys played the violin and melodica. They were joined by another guy who sang traditional songs, then joined in the music with his bohdran and also played the spoons. One if the young guys also danced. It was exactly what we were looking forward to - a traditional Irish pub night. We had already eaten so can't comment on the food. we were told the next day they were joined by other dancers and musicians - wish we had stayed longer.
