Lovely hotel with very friendly staff ( Andrea & Kathleen on reception) the food was very good also. A lovely setting for a hotel with its own theatre, shops, hairdressers etc all in the court yard! The family room was very airy with a patio door, which was great in this hot weather. Stunning scenery en route to and all around Connemara, the Sky road is just breath taking, Connemara National park and Kylemore Abbey is a must see. The pool could do with a bit of an upgrade, but other than that everything was great.

We stayed here 8th-9th April on a Groupon deal bought for us as a Christmas present. Staff throughout were efficient and helpful. Room was ok but bathroom a bit 'tired', paintwork scuffed and tiles cracked. Enjoyed the food and drink in the Signal Bar. Library bar didn't seem to be staffed for the duration of our stay.
The hotel holds a record for us. It is the only hotel we have ever stayed in where we have been refused poached eggs, instead of the usual fried eggs for breakfast. The reason why we were refused.....no vinegar! No vinegar on both mornings!
If we were in the area again we would probably ask for a quote, but don't think we'd be too disappointed if we didn't stay again.

We spent a weekend in the hotel. We had two adjoining rooms, which worked out perfect for the kids. The hotel/pool is extremely clean and comfortable. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Situation is also ideal. The buffet breakfast is five star! I'd highly recommend this hotel for a family break!

We spent four nights here during "the heatwave". The room has nice, with a big comfy bed. The swimming pool was lovely and the meals were excellent. The staff were all very polite and welcoming and friendly, chatty and helpful. We wanted to make an early start on our departure day, before breakfast, but the receptionist said we could have some things to take with us or they would make us a drink and something to eat before we went. The hotel is well situated near the town, easy walk.
Its a bit sad to see that some of the surrounding shops in the yard have closed down and are empty.

Room Tip: Our room was at the back of the hotel, which was nice and quiet.

Very pleased with Hotel quality, situation, food, staff and pricing during recent mid-week break with my wife for days. Suitable for visiting local attractions and within easy walking distance to local bars and restaurants. Recently retired in our 60's.

This is the second time our family has spent a week in the Clifden Station House Apartments (self-catering). They are well-equipped and very clean. The hotel and leisure centre staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is excellently located, Clifden is a great base from which to explore Galway and there is so much to do, whatever the weather. I would recommend it to anyone. Fantastic!
