“Standards still just as high”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

It takes time to reach Clifden whether coming from golf at Ballyconnelly or driving down the Sky road, but when there, it is rewarding to walk slowly round and soak up the quirky atmosphere of this historic town. And Walsh's restaurant is the ideal place to rest and revive before moving on. Extensive menu options are complemented by the most friendly and engaging and efficient staff - with very reasonable prices and clean tables [and pristine toilets]. An ideal spot to freshen up, and enjoy before moving on.

“delicious lunch”
Reviewed April 24, 2013

We stopped in Clifton for lunch at Walsh's and really enjoyed everything we had! The food is fresh and made to order. The bakery section is filled with delicious home cooked treats. We loved the brown bread so much we bought a loaf to bring home.

“Glad to have stopped at this bakery”
Reviewed April 7, 2013

This bakery was recommended to us by our B&B hostess and we decided to try it. We weren't as impressed as she was, but it was still a nice place to stop for a bite. The pastries looked delicious, and the bread was fresh and soft, but my fruit tart had a thick skin of gelatin on it that was wholly unappetizing. Once I scraped the gelatin off, the tart itself was quite good, but it was slightly off-putting. The coffee was hot and strong, which was a plus in our opinion. It was very cold outside, so the hot coffee was welcome.
