A quaint and cozy hotel nestled off a windy road of Clifden. It was well worth staying away from the center of town to have some peace and quiet, but it was a quick drive into town. They provided a full Irish breakfast with very friendly staff. Very comfortable beds with a beautiful view over the water. This was my favorite place to stay during my two weeks in Ireland, we will definitely be back during our next stay on the West coast!

Secluded deep in the West Coast of Ireland, this was a heavenly retreat. The restaurant is a definite highlight, as is the bar and lounge area. The host is very accommodating and helpful - his recommendations for local sights and walks made the trip! The hotel is slightly dated (rural chic?) but immaculately cleaned and well maintained. Recommended as a comfortable, romantic base for exploring the Connemara National Park area, or just sipping a Jameson on the rocks by the fireplace.

Have eaten here twice and both times the food and service were excellent, but the best thing about this place is the comfort and the way they let you enjoy your meal in your own time. Great choice on menu, wonderfully flavoured food presented beautifully. Tranquil views of the bay and a lovely cozy bar to enjoy a drink beforehand and many drinks after your meal. Looking forward to my next visit.

What a spot- overlooking the water on a fairly quiet road just a 3 minute drive to the center of Clifden. The hotel is a small boutique hotel with an exterior done in contemporary style. The rooms have large windows- try to get a room facing the water. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel restaurant is good, not great. There is a nice bar on the main floor.

A few small issues- the wi-fi did not work that well in the rooms; the bathroom could use some more hooks.

Room Tip: The water side! (A bit of road noise, but hardly noticeable.)

Myself and my partner stayed in the Ardagh hotel for a weekend and I have to say it was one of the nicest we have ever had. Obviously the surroundings and beautiful scenery make this whole area one of the most beautiful in the world and the fact we were in such a wonderful friendly and well maintained hotel with staff who couldn't do enough for us and gave us a lovely evening and fantastic meal from their restaurant on the Saturday night of our stay. The view from the hotel is magnificent and it is in close proximity to anything you would want to visit in this part of the world.
And the restaurant gives you an unrivalled selection of fantastic foods to dine on, I had the turbot and my partner had the scallops and we were both delighted with our choices although from the conversations we had with some of the other guests in the bar afterward any choice would have been a good one.

Room Tip: Go for a suite for very little extra you get a fantastic view and the rooms are so quiet you would barely notice anyone else was there in the hotel with you.
