Having been recommended we had a delightful stay here.
Welcominig reception by Stephane the owner, lovely turf fires in the lounge and dining room, each with superb sea views as did our bedroom. The meals and service were excellent and the decour and personal touches most attractive.Lovely and quiet yet close to Clifden We hope to return.

Room Tip: Ask for sea facing to sea the sunset

I only booked this hotel because it was close to the area where I wanted to stop for the night. But what a nice surprise. The dinner was incredible and served by candlelight in front of a window with the most gorgeous view of the sunset. Lots of comfy, attractive places to sit downstairs to relax. The people there were so nice, and it had a great, family feel. I hated to have to check out the next day. I would definitely recommend a stay here. It will become a treasured memory.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view.

We have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Ardagh where we had a family reunion in honour of our father who used to love this hotel. The welcome was warm and my widowed mother was greeted like a long lost friend, which was wonderful for her. The food is outstanding and the service was pleasant and attentive. The view from the dinningroom and the bedrooms at the front of the hotel is as good as it gets. Our large family gathering loved every minute of what could have been a sad occasion for us but the team at the Ardagh ensured that everyone had a wonderful time, which left us wanting more. A decision has been made that a family trip to the Ardagh should become an annual event!

We also stayed in the Ardagh hotel for Easter & what a weekend we had, you could'nt fault anything even Stefan & his impromptu gig on his drum kit.
The Ardagh is everything you could wish for in a stay away with fabulous views over the bay & amazing food in restaurant provided by Monique , what a hard working woman, everything you eat is sourced locally & served by their wonderful staff , after dinner you can head to the lovely bar with a big open fire & entertainment on the night we were there was a lovely girl with her guitar & a gorgeous voice and Stefan also provided us with some fabulous drumming to Elvis & Barry white , should be a regular weekend treat ....... I have to say it was a great night & one that I will be returning to visit again soon.
Stefan keep practising those drums for our next visit. !!!!!!!!

We spent Easter here and enjoyed every minute, The hotel has the best view of any hotel I've stayed in in Connamara. The food was the highest standard you'll find in the area and both the restaurant and our hotel room overlooked the bay. The owners Stefan and Monique are excellent hosts & really know how to entertain and make you feel at home, they should do, they've been doing it for 30 years. I can't recommend it highly enough, the best part was the craic after dinner at the bar. Just don't ask Stefan to get his drum kit out, you could be in for a long night.
