Delicious food and a wonderful, laid-back atmosphere. Service was prompt and helpful, but not intrusive.

The restaurant has been in business for 20 years and for a good reason. We went on a Sunday night and reservations would have been needed if we had arrived 30 minutes later. The food was a little pricey but not out of range for Ireland and very tasty. The seafood was very fresh and there was a good ambiance about the place.

Popped in here for a quick refuel whilst wandering around the lovely town of Clifden. Why cannot more places just be like this? Tired of inflated prices and poor quality food particularly when you just need a snack Mitchell's hits the right spot, We ordered a beef wrap and a brie and smoked bacon panini (panino, no?) and shared both so i got the best of both worlds. I have never ooohed and ahhhhed over a sambo before but both were absolutely excellent. The beef was soft tender, no grizzly bits or fat, really tasty with caramelised onions etc. The brie and smoked bacon was delicious and perfectly "executed" as i think the phrase is nowadays, we couldn't decide which was more mouthwatering, Mitchells is a full service restaurant and if i had been staying nearby i would have loved to have tried it a few times for dinner or a long lunch, Never thought i would post a review of a sandwich but sometimes you get something so well done, why not! Both cost approx 8.50 each and came with a very nice side salad and a complimentary large jug of water. It was worth every cent. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and the service excellent.
