The Maigue restaurant in Adare, Limerick, is attached to the Dunraven Arms Hotel.
The restaurant and the hotel are old-world type decor. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, (it was Halloween night when we were there and there was a table of kids dressed up, a little out of place in a formal restaurant and they were noisy but good natured and added to the atmosphere, I didn;t mind them at all).
A good menu - we had Limerick Ham terrine to start, very good and very well presented, followed by Guinea Fowl, very tasty. She had Caesar Salad and Fried Plaice, which was also excellent.
I thought the wine list was good. From reasonable entry level bottles to a Margeaux at the top end. And for those whose partner's don;t drink wine a good selection of 4 reds and 4 whites by the glass.
Staff were very attentive and friendly and smart casual is the dress code.
All in all very good meal, thoroughly enjoyed and good value for money for the standard of dining, recommended.
