We just returned from a 5 night trip to this beautiful hotel. The building and grounds are stunning. I can't say enough about how wonderful the entire staff was during our stay. They were uniformly friendly and helpful. By the second day they were all calling us by name and knew our room number and preferences. Pat at the front desk will keep you laughing.

We stayed in a standard room on the first floor. It was large and comfortable. The bathrooms could do with an update, the small pedestal sink with separate faucets for hot and cold water were annoying, especially with 2 people. Being an old manor house, there is no closet in the room. Everything had to fit in the wardrobe with 2 small drawers at the bottom. There are only 62 rooms, so it was always quiet.

The spa is small but they have a nice assortment of facials that were very good. It is a nice way to spend the morning while the men played golf.

The restaurant serves a lovely continental breakfast in the mornings with several hot items available off the menu. Afternoon tea is served daily, but we were never there to enjoy it. We all enjoyed drinks in The Tack Room with live music nightly.

It is a 10 minute walk to the gates of town. You will find cute shops, pubs and nice restaurants there. We had a delicious meal at the Blue Door, fresh salmon and lamb chops.

Adare is a great place to stay while you explore southwest Ireland. We took day trips to the Cliffs of Morh, Cork and Waterford. Waterford was over 2 hours and might be easier to visit from another location.

Room Tip: The first floor hall has a strange odor so I would avoid it. The rooms don't smell at all, but w...

Just enjoyed a two-night stay at the Adare Manor. What a beautiful hotel in a beautiful area of Ireland. We knew it was a special place the minute we drove onto the grounds. The manor home has been renovated into a top-notch hotel on a golf course. Every staff person that we dealt with went out of their way to be warm and frriendly, as well as accomodating. We especially enjoyed Patrick who mans the front door and made us feel very welcome in every way

We stayed there for several days on a photography trip to Ireland. The manor house is beautiful, very old world with a lovely lobby and fireplace. The rooms are great and very comfortable, the sevice is excellent, and the breakfasts were exceptional. Around the manor is a lovely garden with manicured shrubs, and the oldest cedar tree in the British Isles. An idyllic setting and definitely worth a stay, especially if you fly into Shannon. It's very close to the airport.

My golf friends and I arrived from an early Sunday morning flight into Shannon and a short drive to find the lovely Adare Manor, and though our rooms were understandably not ready we were hospitably welcomed and served coffee in the drawing room while we waited. Once accommodated our rooms were quite spacious and though I have to say a bit dated in style and furnishings, they were nicely cleaned, had large well appointed bathrooms, and the beds were very comfortable. I enjoyed a swim in the glass enclosed pool downstairs and use of the steam after a round of golf on the beautifully kept Adare course, which is on the grounds of the Manor. The staff at the club as well as the hotel could not have been more helpful no matter what the request, including sending someone out to a pharmacy for me to pick up something I had forgotten to bring. Breakfast in the sunroom was very well done, and the evening bar downstairs is a nice place for a nightcap. The village is a short walk and is a picturesque little tourist town with a few good restaurants and musical pubs. Though a little bit of a drive, I recommend staying at Adare when playing the courses of the north Kerry coast(Ballybunion, Lahinch, Tralee), you won't find a better base to call home.

A week in Ireland...golf with good friends on 6 spectacular courses....awesome accommodations...what could be better? Well, in our case, the weather. But that's another story of 60 mph winds accompanied by rain and chilled temps, and that story is getting better every day. We had a great time battling the elements.

This review, however, is about our villa, booked as part of a package through Sceptre Tours. Our four bedroom, four bath, 2000+ sq. ft. villa was the perfect selection for our group of four male golfers. On the property of The Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort, these villas provided the space and an unexpected level of luxury that our group immediately embraced. With his own bedroom and bath, there was plenty of room for each member to store all his gear out of the way of the others. Plus we enjoyed common areas that included a complete kitchen with all the necessary hardware and utensils, living room, dining room, sun room and utility room (with washer and dryer). Each room had it's own TV plus there was a larger unit in the living room. WI FI kept everyone in touch. "American" outlets in each room eliminated the need to have adaptors for our electrical devices. The beds were comfy, and the furnishings new and attractive. Parking was right outside the front door. In short, every effort had been made to anticipate the needs of almost any guest.

We experienced two issues while there, and the speed with which they were addressed were impressive. Our clothes dryer did not work properly, and we experienced trouble with the TV in the living room (it was Masters week, so we were catching the broadcast from 9:00-12:00 each evening). We reported the problems as we were leaving for a round at Ballybunion. When we returned that afternoon, the guard obviously had alerted maintenance that we had returned to the property. So, as we pulled up to our villa, maintenance was right behind us. The gentleman introduced himself, showed us that repairs had been made (he actually replaced the dryer) and made certain that we were satisfied before he wished us a good evening and departed. That was a very impressive response to those problems.

Having the facilities to prepare our own breakfasts in the morning at our own pace, enjoy coffee or tea as soon as we rolled out of bed was a nice way to begin each day. We could have "dined in" more, but we wanted to experience what the local establishments offered. However, the villas allow you to be completely self-sufficient if that is that way you want to go.

One other note to anyone who might read this. Before departing the U.S., I had written to the U.S. representative for Adare Villas (Mary, 800-462-3273, or adaremanor@aol.com). Mary answered a multitude of questions for me about the villas as well as the part of Ireland we were visiting. She was instrumental in helping make a couple of changes to our reservation that made our trip much more enjoyable. In fact, I spoke with Mary after we returned and discovered she had been keeping a long-distance eye on us through her contacts in Adare. She was just making certain we were having a good time, but that is another example of the exemplary customer care and service we experienced with our stay at Adare Villas.

We stayed on the 2 night gourmet package. This hotel holds it's weight with both Ashford & Dromoland. A warm welcome when we checked in, a huge room with a fabulous view from both the bedroom & the bathroom and beautiful grounds. The tasting menu & wine selection did not disappoint. It's a special place.

Room Tip: A corner suite looking onto the gardens, large bathroom with freestanding bath & a view from it!

We stayed at the Manor and had a wonderful time. Beautiful rooms in very well integrated new parts of the building. Nice breakfast, lovely afternoon tea (one of the best I have ever had) in the drawing room and a romantic dinner in the Oakroom restaurant. Adare is known as the prettiest little village in Ireland. My only regret is that we were not able to see the grounds in full bloom as we visited early April. But that just means we will have to go back. Adare Manor is one of few places I can truly recommend.
