Description: Set in the family-run Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel, Timmy Mac's is an informal and welcoming restaurant offering Irish dining at its most traditional. Cream and green tones add a vibrant touch to the rustic interior, where hearty home-cooked dishes are served next to the crackling open hearth fire. Visitors can choose from our extensive menu, which includes healthy eating options, while enjoying some good old fashioned hospitality. The cottage garden is perfect for laid-back summertime barbecues, with seating in the thatched gazebo or outdoor dining area. Entertainment is courtesy of a buzzy crowd of musicians, storytellers and Irish dancers, as well as the popular thatched games area.

Ordered food from the a la carte.. What was supposed to be a veg tart came out as veg grilled wit mozzarella in a large volauvent case.. Completely different to what was described on the menu and completely tasteless. V disappointing. Won't be going back. Service was v good though.

Thank you for posting your review. We were disappointed to hear your expectations were not met in terms of quality and price. Thanks you for also giving us 5 stars for service and atmosphere.

The prices on our menus are arrived at using two main pieces of criteria. Firstly they are costed and marked up as you would expect, to achieve a profit margin that covers fixed costs, variable costs and a percentage of profit. The second equally important piece of criteria we apply to our menu pricing is that of a competitor analysis, where we will increase or decrease a dishes price to reflect our market position against our competitive set.

In general Timmy Macas is considered by our customers to be excellent value for money, we have one of the best prices on steaks in limerick for the portion size, and all produce used is local and Irish. We also have a 3 course Guaranteed Irish menu (including Beef) for €25.

In terms of the description of our dish, we will take on board your opinion and I will mention this to our executive food & beverage team for consideration. We actively seek and welcome all customer feedback, and aim to continuously improve our product offering.

Again many thanks for your feedback.

Kind regards
Jason

My family and I stopped for dinner here on Wednesday 11th of September. The Restaurant is decorated beautifully and staff are very friendly. However, we found the food to be very expensive for the portions provided - A tuna steak dinner which consisted of just the tuna steak, some mashed potato and 2 separate portions of beetroot was €17.95. It was way overpriced. We found it very difficult to get service. There was a waitress on duty, who, when she decided to speak to us, was quite professional, but she spent more time avoiding eye contact with us and cleaning tables / polishing glasses at the bar area, than serving people. We asked for the desert menus and chose our deserts, but after 20 minutes of trying to get her attention, we decided to leave and stop for coffee somewhere else. All in all a very disappointing experience and I definitely won't be recommending it as a good place to stop for food.

Thanks you for your comments and observations. We welcome and take on board all feedback with the aim to constantly improve our product.

Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel & Spa has been in operation for close to 30 years. We are a privately owned and family run hotel, one of the few in Ireland with the Guaranteed Irish award, and part of Irish Country Hotels. A huge part of the reason we are here this long, have these accreditations, and have survived as a sole trader, is due to, and with great thanks to, our repeat customers. Many of our customers have been coming here for 30 years, and we are now hosting family occasions for 3rd generations of families in our local area.

We have a large team of internationally experienced and fully trained chefs. Timmy Macs Bistro has been in operation for over 10 years and is without doubt one of the better known restaurants in the area, again with a significant repeat customer base. Our success is based on word of mouth through reputation for the quality of both our food, and customer service.

We will take your comments on board along with all other customer feedback, with the aim to identify areas for improvement.

Thanks again Jason

I had chicken and bacon Caesar salad which was both delicious and huge in size. We also had a decent bottle of rose wine. Best of all the kids were eating separately as part of the free kids club in the hotel.

The food is good hear with a reasonable price (Adare is expensive). Service is poor (pleasant staff) and their is a lack of staff. The stir fry tastes exactly the same as the Fajita mix. The pasta was very good.
