“well worth a visit”
Reviewed July 7, 2014

a Great coffee shop in Carrick on Shannon, popular with locals and visitors. their soup and toasted sandwiches are fresh, their apple and rhubarb tarts delicious. I love the mushroom vol au vents. Family run and a gem in the town of Carrick on Shannon

“Great bakery”
Reviewed July 4, 2014

I've been stopping here since it opened, and that's not yesterday! The one consistent thing about Coffey's is the bakery -- lots of good home baking every day. So many other places buy in day-old stuff, but not here, it's all made in-house. I particularly love their mince pies at Christmas time, and I always buy a bagful to take home. I also love their fresh scones, it is so hard to get nice scones anywhere, and getting them fresh is almost impossible, so if you like a nice scone for your mid-morning break, this is the place.
On the downside, the place probably needs a revamp, but that doesn't take from the food or the service. If I'm doing anything around the area I stock up on a picnic lunch from the deli counter in Coffey's, and I've seen a lot of people do likewise. Nice quiches, salads and of course some nice apple pie for afters! Long may it last!

“Fresh and Tasty”
Reviewed June 5, 2014

We had coffee, freshly baked very tasty sausage rolls and a freshly baked warm apple pie.
Absolutely fantastic and good value.
Everything cooked in-house and as fresh as you'll ever get.

“Best avoided”
Reviewed February 17, 2014

Stopped here for a lunchtime snack. Thought we would start with their vegetable soup and brown bread. What a disappointment. The soup was straight from a packet and not even properly reconstituted. It was horrible. The accompanying brown bread was ok though far from delicious. Had intended having coffee and cake afterwards but thought again. Went elsewhere for much better fare.

“Fine stop for coffee etc.”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

Little bakery at the end of the bridge so location ideal. Parking over the road beside the river. Enjoyed meringue with coffee. Seating upstairs the windows overlook river and the sun floods in if you are fortunate. Tables and chairs dated but who cares.
