“Corporate / Social Week”
Reviewed April 9, 2014

I just had a team week in The Landmark, and as a group we took 10 rooms for 3 nights mid-week on a B&B basis, with 1 dinner included.
The team loved the hotel, not a big chain name, but all the staff were professional, the accommodation was great, the service was fantastic and the food and facilities were all pretty good.
The hotel is located right on the water in Carrick-On-Shannon and has some great views, and the walk along the boardwalk across the road on the water is beautiful at anytime rain or shine.
The hotel has a great big bar, nice conservatory café and a good restaurant.
We also had meeting room facilities for a couple of the days and the wireless and projector equipment all worked fine, and the room comfortable, quiet and well stocked
Excellent property, Excellent service, very happy to recommend and will be back again.

Room Tip: Have to ask for front facing to see the amazing river view ......

The Landmark provides a limited menu for the evening visitor. Staff are usually helpful and willing to offer advice on the selection available. The quantity of food is limited, but the quality is usually good. Prices are high and it is really not good value.

Carrick on Shannon is the perfect spot for a hen party or stag party. We stayed in the Landmark Hotel on a package that included one night B&B, dinner and entry into VIP area of adjoining nightclub. Our room was perfectly adequate, shower was hot and bed comfy ect. Dinner (I had steak) was lovely and breakfast was nice enough.
We paid 100 per person for this package and I feel that we got good value for money.
All the staff in the Hotel were very friendly and welcoming, as were the staff in Dunne' s pub.

They seem to embrace the whole hen/stag culture in Carrick on Shannon, unlike some other towns.
I would definitely recommend the Landmark Hotel and Carrick in Shannon in general for a wild weekend away.

This is a lovely hotel and an ideal place to stay for a hen weekend. Food was gorgeous and the atmosphere was brilliant. We had booked a small group to stay for a hen weekend and it was organised in loads of time from the previous Sept of 2013. On arrival we were asked to pay upfront having already paid a deposit, I thought this was pointless as most places take a swipe of a card and we hadnt even seen our rooms yet so this was unnecessary as far as I was concerned. The booking had been organised with one of the staff who informed us it would be a free entry into the hotel nightclub nearby in the VIP area and cocktails on arrival. My sister had called to ensure all was still ok for our arrival and we were not told the nite club was closed on a Friday night! So not a big deal but we had to organise something else for the Friday night. We were just put out that we travelled all the way from Galway and friends had travelled too. Breakfast wasnt great in the hotel and it was obvious they didnt have much time for our group as they had a wedding on the Friday and the Saturday. All in all if you are organising a hen make sure you have details agreed over email. We did and we brought it to managements attention of a few items had been forgotten.

Room Tip: Ask for a room thats not near the nightclub if you intend on an early night you will not sleep with...

We did not enjoy our one night stay. The room was very cold on arrival and it had very old fashioned dark furniture which unfortunately is now badly stained from previous customers leaving hot beverages on the table tops. The carpet was also stained and the bath shower area was badly stained. The positives, receptionist pleasant. The shower was good but only a showergel/shampoo dispenser, no good toiletries for an 'executive room'. Unfortunately we would not revisit.

The hotel has maintained its standards and quality even though its 14 years since we last stayed there. The quilts on the beds are new (thank goodness :-) and they are a pleasure to snuggle into. Some other reports say that the hotel is tired but I think mature would be a kinder comment. The staff are friendly and efficient, Teresa is as kind an efficient as ever at breakfast. Thanks for a great and relaxing stopover. Food service was most professional from the guys in the bar and appreciated.

We stayed here for three nights - 17 to 20 March. We found all the staff extremely friendly and helpful. We had one meal as part of our stay and it was ok but not special. Although our room was lovely and clean it cannot be denied that it was tired with very old fashioned dark furniture, the carpet was also stained. The hotel really does need to be updated
