The room was obviously quite old - broken television, terrible quality mattress. It was tidy but its age made it look a little dirty. The matress was the worst I ve slept on in a hotel.
For €100 per room - It was terribly overpriced.

Breakfast was awful - Microwaved (to re heat) fry.
We ate in the cafe as opposed to the dining room but thats no excuse for the terrible attempt at food.
Also ate in the restaurant. The food here was fine but not spectacular.

This hotel is just going through the motions day to day without trying to impress. A pity as the lobby is quite nice and gives a sense of a once proud hotel dying next to the more modern competition.

Stayed on Sat 29th Dec. Just a small note of advice if you are planning a quiet night away at this hotel it would be a good idea to ask if there was a wedding function on as the loud music from 11.30-01.30 distrupted my nights sleep.

Stopped in Carrick-on-Shannon for an unexpected overnight stay. The hotel was central and convenient. The interiors have a lovely cosy feel with numerous little nooks with open fires. The room was clean and well apportioned. The staff friendly and welcoming, although the reception staff maybe a little too Americanised in there greetings. The bar staff although were very busy had a more natural friendliness and were fabulous and helpful. We had food in the bar which was of a good standard with loads of food available. The breakfast was great with very nice friendly staff.

I have stayed here a couple of times before and I will most definitely stay again. Location couldn't be any better and the staff and service are top notch. Big thanks to dee at the front desk for all her help. (especially after leaving my car keys behind)

Stayed in the Bush Hotel for one night on 7/11/12. This hotel is very central and does not look great from the outside. However, if you stay you will be pleasantly surprised. It has a warm and inviting atmosphere and the rooms are very spacious. I booked a single room which was €55 for B&B and had a double and single bed and oceans of space besides. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The hotel itself gives you a sense of history. The food is very reasonable as well as being as good if not better than some posher hotels I have stayed in. As for the breakfast, it seems you can have as much as you want of everything. Above all though, the thing that most impressed was the hospitality and you felt that the staff could not do enough for you. My compliments to the barman and the lady who waited on us at breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again myself. The only reason I am not giving it a rating of 5 is because it doesnt have a view of the river, but it only a 2 minute walk away.
