Myself and my family stayed here in August of this year(2013). We all found it to be warm and welcoming. The kids loved it, especially as we stayed in the 'Penthouse!!'.
Staff and the owners went that extra mile to make sure our stay was pleasant and enjoyable.
Will definitely be going back.

Spent two nights here at the weekend, really enjoyed it. Small but comfortable and very cheerful, nice staff. The menu was limited but the food was vey good. Nicely located in a lovely clean little village, a few minutes from Carrick and a short drive to Lough Key Forest Park.
Thanks to all the staff who made our little 4 year old very welcome and very happy.

Stayed here for 4 nights, the 1st night in a tiny twin room. Bathroom light did not work but was fixed quickly. Upon going to bed found a blood stained mattress cover on the bed! Due to being quite late upon finding we did not report this matter until the next day. The owner was more than apologetic and was quite shocked that this was the case. We were moved to a bigger room the next day. Rooms really could do with a make over very dated and shower cubicles are exceptionally small, and the water is far too hot I still have a burn mark to show for it
On a positive note it is in a great location, beautiful views, very friendly locals and cheap to get to Carrick on Shannon about 3 euro each...

We stayed here for the night before the weddding and the night after. It was a grand location as we were between the church and the castle. Don't expect much from it as it was quite acutate from the photo's. The bathroom wasn't great (in fact tiny), but it had all that we needed. The entrance at the side of the pub is where cars come out which I preseive to be a bit dangerous as it's only enough space for one person.

The decor of the room reminded me of my granmothers house....

The breakfast they recommend down the road was a great big dirty fry which is great for hangovers :)

I didn't drink in the pub, as was busy with wedding folk. It's a handy place if you just need a place to crash and it's clean!

Just want to say a big THANK YOU to Maureen and the staff at The Leitrim Lodge. I stayed there as a party of nine girls on a hen party. We were greeted with a warm smile and nothing was too much bother. We had four rooms and each one was clean tidy and was more that adequate for the price paid. We where booked in for dinner at 5 and being a group of girls of course we were a 'tad' late, again this was no issue. We all had a lovely meal and Maureen booked us a taxi for the short ride into Carrick-on-Shannon. Breakfast wasn't available but there is a lovely little cafe across the road that is open.

The rooms and more importantly the room rates are budget style but acceptable. The hotel caters for stag and hen parties as well as regular guests.
But the restaurant is to be avoided if you're a steak lover. What is really a 'minute' steak, is described as a striploin. But the steaks are only served one way, despite how you request your cooking preferences.
Most of our dining party opted for steaks and were therefore extremely disappointed. In fairness, I myself had a curry and it was excellent.

Room Tip: Request one at the back,it's quieter.
