The rooms were beautiful, one of the largest rooms we've stayed in. Great view overlooking the pasture. It was too far to walk into town, but the drive was only a few minutes. We followed Noreen's recommendation and ate at Jim Edwards-- we were not disappointed. Very friendly, and she took us in with only about 30 minutes notice. The room was a bit chilly after the sun went down, but we had more than enough blankets to keep us warm. The morning sun in the window heated the room up nicely in the morning.

Our stay at Noreen's home started off with a warm Irish welcome. Our room room was large with a wonderful view of the pasture land. White Egyptian cotton linens,a queen bed, knotty pine wood flooring and a bath/shower combo in the en suite combo. Although I would not advise taking the 3k or 1.5 walk into Kinsale, due to the Cork County sunken narrow roadways, there is a path by the sea that by my estimation was less than 1 mile. I wish I could upload a photo now but my SD card from my visit to in June of 2010 Ireland has gone missing. Since I loaded the photos onto a digital photo frame, the photos wih the view from the bedroom at the Sunrise Inn and other the dining room at the Sunrise may be accessed in the digital frames memory. Thankfully my photos have been backed up. I should be able to access them. I will add my photos of the Sunrise to this review at a later date.

Room Tip: My review is based on the room with a queen sized bed, an en suite bath and a view of the pasture an...

Doreen greeted us and was very pleasant throughout our stay. The house seemed new, accommodations were comfortable and attractive. The bedding was comfortable and attractive as well. There is a herd of yearling cows on the property who were very amused by visitors. They spend the night in the field and you hear an occasional moo but other than that you could not get a quieter location. The view to the rear of the property was spectacular. I wasn't up for sunrise and it was probably cloudy anyway. It was a bit difficult to find and I can't remember now, how we ultimately found it. It was very close to downtown Kinsale but I wouldn;t say you could walk there and return after dark. We had a good meal at Fishy Fishy. Great place to stay to visit nearby Cobh.

Room Tip: Although we were only two, she gave us the room for 4 that faced the pasture. It was very roomy. M...

We stayed 4 days. We were welcomed by Noreen Murphy, the owner, and immediately felt at home. The weather wasn't very good - that's how it all stays so green - but we had a wonderful time. Both the bed and the breakfasts were good, the place was clean, neat and tidy and the room overlooking the meadow out front is fabulous. Noreen was all smiles and very friendly. Without my asking, she even let us park our motorcycle in her garage out of the rain at night. We enjoyed watching the cows migrate as though a landscape painter was arranging them each morning and evening. One night Noreen called a taxi for us and introduced us to the driver who was happy to recommend which pub should be first on our pub crawl in Kinsale that night. We called him late at night and he returned us to the B&B - a good taxi at a discount thanks to Noreen. This location is quiet and handy as a home base, but you can't easily walk to the village. That was OK with us because most all of the places in the village are pricey and over pubs so they are noisy, too. Sunrise B&B has ample safe parking that's convenient, which can't be said for most village locations. We'll go back again, which is not something we can say for the overpriced less than cordial B&B we stayed at in Rosslare.

Room Tip: Ask for the front room overlooking the big meadow and out to the river. This room is over the dining...

Stayed for a night recently after a wedding and must say they couldn't have been more helpful. After a late night partying the night before, we woke to a very very tasty breakfast. Gorgous brownbread, sausages, rashers, toast, eggs and more. The lady of the house could not have been more helpful and her husband was extremely friendly and helpful to us. Definetly would recommend this b and b to anyone.

We have experienced a few B&B's in Ireland, and this did not come up to a standard we were used to in the same price range. The room was large, however the bedding was outdated, had to pay a higher price and got a room with no view. We had the continental breakfast - which was cereal and toast.

We booked a room at Sunshine B&B more than two months in advance, and informed the hostess that we will be arriving late.

Having arrived to the location, we were told that our room was given to previous guests, whose child fell ill. The hostess (Noreen) arranged for us to stay at her daughter's B&B nearby. Up to this point it was a totally acceptable solution for us. However, Noreen's behavior from that point on was amazingly rude and inconsiderate. The basic feeling was that she didn't give a damn about us.

Noreen's daughter was out for that night, so there was noone to take care of us, but Noreen's only desire was to drop us there and finish the whole business as soon as possible. Noreen informed us that we only a continental breakfast will be served, just because there is nobody there to cook. Then it turned out that the light in the bathroom doesn't work, and Noreen just brought in a small lamp, and said we are supposed to plug it in our room and use the bathroom with an open door.

When being told that the price is now too high for a B&B without breakfast and without a proper bathroom, Noreen said nothing can be done, and that she has to pay her daughter a higher price for the room - so we can just as well leave (The time was 10.30pm, it was dark, and we had nowhere to go).

After we insisted the light should be fixed, she brought the house owners to do so. We don't know what Noreen told them, but those two men arrived angry and behaved extremely agressively, making us feel very uncomfortable. At that point Noreen left, saying "that is not her business anymore". The problem was easily solved with the property owners after they realised their mistake - they even offered us to stay without pay.

The whole incidend could have been avoided if Noreen behaved differently and showed at least minimal interest in our needs. Noreen's behaviour was amazingly strange for a person who is supposed to know how to treat people. Apparently, she doesn't have a clue about it.
