My two friends and I recently stayed at this cute, fashionable B&B in Kinsale, and I'm so glad it turned out to be such a deal! The owners are darling, and the pancakes were delicious in the morning! The hotel is a little out of the city centre, but cab fares are cheap, and I was in love with the country scenery that greeted us when we arrived. You'd be a fool not to pick this B&B.

Rivermount House was an absolute favorite of ours in Ireland. The town of Kinsale is a great place to visit... and Rivermount the perfect place to stay. The property is immaculate. Rooms are very comfortable, large bathrooms with nice amenities, breakfast is spot on (cooked to order and all of the requisite continental items). Claire and her husband are wonderful hosts and a great source of information on the area. As mentioned previously, the property is beautiful, but it is about 5 min from town. I do not view this as a negative, just a heads-up.

The location of Rivermount House is a bit outside of Kinsale, but it more than makes up for it with its view of the bay and surrounding countryside. Breakfast was delicious and the proprietors (though they were out when we arrived) were friendly and helpful in the morning. We really enjoyed our stay.

Would just like to recommend this amazing house a few miles from Kinsale.Weve just returned from a lovely weekend away down there. This 5 star guesthouse is situated a few miles from the bustling town of Kinsale. It is absolutley stunning .A very modern open plan guesthouse , with impeccabale interior design. The host was so hospitable , beautiful breakfast selection also.
I would highly recommend this guesthouse to couples young and old alike.
The rooms are amazing , now i did peep in to aother room and it seemed considerably bigger, so maybe one should ask while booking for a large room especially if staying for 2 nights!
If i were to find a flaw , it would be just that its a bit away from the town , however they have a very promptaxi service for €10(All adds up though).
We will definatley be returning to Rivermount house , hopfully in summer when one an really appreciate the true value of this immaculate guesthouse

Located 3km outside of Kinsale we found the accommodation to be one of the best we stayed in. Claire was a lovely host and always had a friendly smile. The rooms were delightful and the views over the farmlands were beautiful. Coming direct from Dublin it took us a while to get used to the quieteness. We found it an excellent hub to visit the areas surrounding Cork. Beds were extremely comfortable and the rooms and bathroom were spotless. Would highly recommend you stay here if you are spending any time in Cork.

Room Tip: Our room was on the top floor facing the front of the house. Beautiful outlook over the farmlands...

This B&B is beautifully decorated and the room we had was spacious, clean and very comforable. We arrived a little later than planned, but Martin greeted us with a very warm welcome. They have 110 service in the rooms, making the use of our American chargers easy. Claire served a delicious breakfast and thier daughter had her first chance to "serve" one of our plates. She was adorable. Kinsale is well worth the trip; definitely plan to have dinner in town. Even with the rainy weather we experienced, the view of the river from the house is fantastic and the hydrangea blooms were still bright. This property is not walking distance from town so if you plan to enjoy the pubs you may wish to consider a cab. The town road along the river flooded during high tide but it quickly drained. If you are arriving through Kinsale center, the directions say to stay right after the "shop". They should read turn right after the "shop". That will save you some time locating the property.

Room Tip: Larger rooms with three beds available.

Travelling with 3 teenage girls who balk at the term bed and breakfast is not easy, especially in Ireland. For some reason, they seem to think b&b's are creepy, delapidated, farm houses with bugs and pigs, and while this place did have a horse in the backyard, it definitely didn't fit that description. I can't imagine why anyone would give this beautiful b&b a poor review. The views to the river are gorgeoes, and the decor is so tastefully done, it was honestly better than most of the hotels we stayed at, even in Dublin! In some of our other accomodations across Ireland, we found that the lobby and common areas were beautifully decorated, but the rooms were lacking. That just isn't the case at Rivermount, where even the bathrooms show great attention to detail. The house is very well cared for and clean, and Clare is such a sweetheart. She gave us a FREE bottle of wine on the first night when we were playing cards in the living room. Keep in mind though, that this b&b only takes cash, and if you're an American who's used to your comfy, soft, bed, get ready for rock hard beds all across Ireland. The breakfast was great, just stay away from the black and white pudding, lol. In the end, this was our favorite stay in Ireland, even the picky teens loved it.
