This is a gorgeous little restaurant with a tapas style menu. The decor is rustic, warm and welcoming and the staff are helpful and attentive. It's a great place to relax, graze on the delicious offerings and enjoy the great wine menu too. I went back again in the same week to sample more of the menu!

This tapas wine bar is a great addition to Kinsale . Not a huge menu but what they do they do really well . Fantastic wine menu , if you want to drink wine by glass rather than a full bottle they fill 5 glasses per bottle and charge accordingly eg cost per bottle divided by 5.
Great atmosphere, the locals love it , always a good sign

Having read other reviews, I was expecting a full tapas menu. Instead it is quite an eclectic menu of light bites with a couple of 'mains'. We had the charcuterie platter to start which was delicious and one of the most flavoursome meat platters I've had outside of Spain. We had the Special of the night - seared rib eye with rocket salad and parmisan shavings. Cooked perfectly, although could have been a little hotter temperature-wise. The service was excellent - friendly and attentive despite the bar being busy. The wine list is extensive and doesn't just stick to the boring standards, but it's quite expensive. The ambience was buzzy and decor quite quirky and unique. There's a nice outdoor space which on a warm summer evening (if we ever get one!) would be great to use. All in all, this is a great little bar serving up delicious food.

We visited this wine bar on a weekend trip to Kinsale, the food was great, and the selection of wines was excellent, something I haven't seen in Ireland before. The staff were also friendly and helpful.

While there’s nothing self-consciously hip about The Black Pig, it certainly isn’t shocking to see the small-plate food trend take root in what’s arguably the trendiest neighborhood in Kinsale. That this gem eschews any semblance of pretense and scenesterism might be reason enough to visit, but if the mathematician in you is devising a formula along the lines of: Trendy Neighborhood + Tapas = Meager Portions + Inflated Prices, rest assured the Black Pig is non-formulaic in that regard, and that makes a visit a must.
The bold and extensive wine lists are backed up by some forward thinking owners who eagerly offer up advice as to what wine you will enjoy. The remainder of the staff is hard working and friendly.
The antipasto was our choice, but we could not help but notice the other boards going out looked just as scrumptious. Treat yourself one night with a trip here.
