We called into the Black Pig in Kinsale on Saturday 11th of May. We did not have a reservation. The decor is beautiful and the ambience lovely. Our waitress was friendly and intelligent. My husband asked for alcohol-free beer, which they did not stock, but another assistant from inside the bar who had overheard his request, said she would give him a bottle from her private stash of Erdinger. Our waitress, noticing that we spoke Irish between ourselves, spoke to us in Irish. The tapas were very good and obviously prepared inhouse. We had wild garlic pesto, Serrano Ham, their homemade bread, crab claws, sundried tomatoes, and local mozzarella from Tomesbridge. Everything was very tasty, and our hosts very gracious. Top marks for food, wine, and hospitality!

We just went there for a drink as we had somewhere else booked for dinner but would love to have stayed. Roaring log burner to warm us up as it was a chilly evening but there are French doors out into the patio area which looked magical. We sat at the bar and were given a dish of cheeses to nibble on. We were made to feel very welcome and would recommend booking as the place was buzzing.

I came across the black pig earlier this year and it was the find of our holiday. Excellent food at very reasonable prices, and a great selection of wine. We had a selection of hams, olives and other tapas to start followed by beef bourgeon which tasted like it was straight from a chateaux. I I would highly advise anyone in or near Kinsale to ensure this is on your to-do list, quite simply a must.

Was here last Friday night and Will be back. Tapas menu is fantastic to share and nibble while having a lovely Spanish wine. The atmosphere was great and staff were friendly. Every item were reasonably priced for Kinsale..Well done on a new restaurant in tight economical times, Im sure it will do great.
