I was a bit concerned about staying at the Old Presbytery after reading some of the reviews on this site, but it turned out we had absolutely nothing to worry about. We were there in Oct. 2004 and had the most wonderful 2-night/3- day stay. Our room was large and airy, with very comfortable beds, crisp linens, lovely furniture and a very good size bathroom. The breakfasts were out-of-this-world, with so many choices. I loved the home-made muesli and the fruit crepes -- it was very welcome after the artery-blocking eggs and bacon we'd been consuming for most of the trip, but if you want eggs, those are available in many varieties too. The location of the Old Pres is just fabulous--it's right in the heart of the town, but is on a quiet street, so you don't hear any noise (at least we didn't). The floorplan of this B&B is very confusing, so don't be surprised if you get lost several times trying to find the diningroom, or your way out. We fell in love with Kinsale and the Old Pres (Phillip and Noreen, the owners are the nicest people) and wish we could have stayed longer. We were sad to leave. By the way, don't miss out on Don Herlihy's walking tour. It's extremely informative and filled with great history lessons and anecdotes pertaining to Kinsale.
