“On the old harbour”

20 years ago we stayed in the Blue Haven in Kinsale so were pleased to discover on our arrival at the Old Bank House that this is a sister hotel.Location is even better than the Haven since it faces the harbour and the building has been tastefully and not over fussily decorated.
The back of the hotel has quiet rooms although for that you sacrifice the view.
Breakfast in the cafe on the ground floor was excellent with quality ingredients well cooked.
We will certainly return here next time in Kinsale.

We stayed here for one night in the Postmaster Suite (room 3). The location is great, right in the center of town where you can walk easily to everything. The Postmaster suite was worth it as it provided more space and huge windows that let in lots of daylight, but had blackout curtains for sleeping. It overlooked the main street/intersection in town, but noise was not a factor. The staff (including the manager, who helped us quite often) is very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and spacious, bathroom was adequate and clean. The breakfast in the cafe downstairs is great and has a bright, welcoming ambiance. The only downside is that there is no guaranteed parking space, but there is free town parking just a short 5 minute walk down the street where we were always able to find a spot. This is my second stay here, and I'd definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Postmaster suite provides more space and is a great choice without breaking the bank.

One of the dingiest and most old fashioned establishments you could ever wish to find. OK 50 years ago. Spend some money on refurbishment from top to bottom and then we just might return. The upside of Old Bank House is it's location but beyond that it has nothing to offer. Perfect if you wish to return to your childhood when you were taken there for annual summer vacation but not in the 21st century. Spend some money on the Old Bank House PLEASE.

Room Tip: Old and decripid

We stayed here one night based on a recommendation from a friend who grew up in Kinsale. The hotel has a great location in the center of town - walking distance from everything you'd want to see. We stayed in a corner room on one of the upper floors that afforded us lots of natural light and a pretty view of the street and river. The woman who ran the hotel was very sweet and let us pick between two rooms to see which one we liked better. Both the room and bathroom were spacious and well-kept. The hotel itself is on the smaller side and does feel a bit old, but that only adds to its charm. There's also a little cafe on the first floor of the hotel that serves breakfast in the morning (believe it's included in the price of your room) and baked goods/coffee/tea throughout the day.

Room Tip: Corner suites are large, sunny & provide nice views of the street and river.

The Old Bank's location is its greatest asset; it could not be more central in the town. The room was spacious and very clean but our bathroom was lacking extra loo roll. Also, the shower in the bathroom was temperamental (the water temperature went from hot to cold on its own accord). The staff were friendly and helpful. We opted for the breakfast and we were not disappointed; I would definitely recommend the 'Full Irish' (especially if you enjoyed one of Kinsale's many lovely pubs from the night before).
The only drawback I have is the parking facility, or lack thereof. While there is a car-park across the road, this is pay parking. However, the staff did recommend a car park which is free. However, it's about a five to eight minute walk away.
All in all, this is a great hotel in a great town.

Just stayed for the one night amazingly helpful staff very welcoming. The rooms and the building spotlessly clean could do with a little make over in the bathrooms just outdated not in keeping with the age of the building but spotless clean any negative points quickly outweighed by the lovely staff, the choice of breakfast options exceptional dining room/cafe very relaxing & quirky.

Room Tip: ask for a harbour view room

Old Bank is a great boutique hotel in the downtown of the small town of Kinsale. You can walk to all shops and restaurants. It was one of our favorites in all of Ireland. Everyoney at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was served in the cafe on the first floor. We got good recommendations for dinner and music. The walking tour was very informative. If you have time, visit Fort Henry not too far from Kinsale. It is massive! This review may be late, but positive memories still remain!

Room Tip: Corner room in front allows you to overlook the main street.
