Stayed one night and on arrival the receptionist was cheerful and helpful. We were allocated a good sized room, which was very clean and nicely decorated, with a decent sized en suite. Huge bed! Great night's sleep. Excellent breakfast, and plenty of choices on the menu.

Visited here on Sunday evening with my partner, parents and son and couldn't have been happier. The hotel is lovely, welcoming and the staff couldn't have been more friendly! Anytime something was served to our table, the waitresses took the time to show our son some attention which he loves! I always find when restaurants treat children as people also and interact with them and not only the adults.

It was busy but not too crowded, we sat in the bar area for our meal and had plenty of room for a high chair and our pram.

The food here is divine, absolutely divine! I sincerely cannot recommend a visit enough, home cooked, fresh and quality ingredients. Many restaurants around Kinsale, but this is one of the best!

There is no parking at this hotel. We parked on the street outside for two days and had to feed the meter every two hours.
The receptionist was cheerful and helpful. The two rooms we had were shabby and small. We had to haul our cases upstairs as there is no lift and no porter that we could find. The furniture has seen better days and the floor sloped such that when I put an open bottle on the bedside locker it toppled over spilling onto the floor!
Our bedroom window opened directly onto a flat roof which was accessible from the back of the hotel. It appears to be used as the hotel dump; it had the remains of a Christmas tree, odd pots, broken fencing etc on it. It was warm at night and for security reasons we had to sleep with the window closed. There is no air conditioning.
While we were there a dining room was being painted so the fumes made sitting in the lobby out of the question.

We stayed 1 night at the Blue Haven. When we arrived they were working on the floors in the bar area and the lobby was a bit of a mess. The receptionist was very busy when we arrived but as soon as she was done she heled check us in. The lobby is a bity cramped as are the rooms. But the size of the room fit the hotel. This is a smaller hotel but the location outshines any size issues. The room was fine for a night, maybe two. But no longer. The bathroom was clean as well.

Location was excellent and within walking distance to all. There is no on-site parking at the hotel. We got lucky and found a spot directly across the street on the road. The parking is free from 6pm - 10am, so it was great.

Location excellent near the pier. No sea views at all as restaurant at back of building. Felt very enclosed.
We had to walk through noisy bar with enormous seating where people were also eating, in order to get to the restaurant.
Feels very " hotelish" which I don't like. Almost a sense of stuffiness in the room.

The menu was very good and the food was fine but no distinct flavours and all felt quite bland really.

Wine selection was good but because the atmosphere was bland the entire experience disappointed.

We paid by card and had to go back out to the busy noisy bar area and stand amongst everyone to key in our card details ( their credit card machine was broken ) so had to use one from bar area.

All in all, it felt quite lacking and basic. Not once did we feel as though we were in Kinsale. Very disappointing experience.

Definitely would not return.

We had two rooms, both up one flight of stairs, and I had insisted that everyone pack light, so no problem getting bags to the room. Our room was very nice and the bathroom was really good. Breakfast in the morning was good and everything that we could want. It was included with the room. Their recommendation and help getting into a restaurant for dinner was very helpful. We had a great stay in Kinsale. Wish we would have been able to stay longer.

Room was nice, clean and great location. Just like the rest of Ireland we had to carry our luggage up the stairs so pack light. On a very happy note the restaurant has the best seafood chowder in all of Ireland! Thank you Brett (from Canada) for all your suggestions and being so friendly! It really made our stay just that much better!
