We enjoyed a 1 hour walking tour with Dermot Ryan. He gave us a lot of information about Kinsale and had a good sense of humor. The tour starts at the Tourist Office at 10:30 am daily.

We all enjoyed the walk and commentary. Details on Irish history told in an amusing way. The stories gave a personal side to historical events. If you are touchy about your country's politics you might hear some comments you do not like.

Great to hear that you enjoyed the walk as enjoyment is essential to remembering the history as shown with the maps and photographs, otherwise an hour listening to a lecture type walk can be boring and forgettable.

My mom and I were at the visitor's centre in Kinsale, and she was approached by the tour guide to take a tour. It was fun and informative, and he was very kind, patient, and aware of my mom (she does not walk fast or far). He always made sure she had a place to sit. It was very kind of him, and we still got a great tour. Thanks for the history, knowledge, patience, and jokes!

Thanks for the great review, much appreciated. Kinsale is an ideal town for walking as it is level, with footpaths dished for wheelchair access. It is also great for history with a story around every corner to make a visit an unforgettable experince.

I was part of a group of 12 or so who had the great pleasure of a most informative stroll about the Market area of Kinsale, and even though I have been coming to Kinsale for decades learned more about the town today than in 30 previous years. Dermot has a wonderful knowledge of time past and he relates this in a factual balanced way with humour and flair. It is done without being too "heavy". Great to know of the connections with life in past centuries. not to be missed.

It is always great to receive such a good review and even better when it comes from someone who is a frequent visitor to the town and appreciates the story of Kinsale told in an unusual way, using maps and photographs with a touch of humour so that visitors leave with information that they will remember.

Had a fantastic tour around the town. Dermot was very amusing and told great stories. The visual aids were brilliant. He had brought an A4 Lever Arch file and showed us old pictures of times past of the places we visited. Most ennoyable

Loved the history and our guide.Walk was very short, more of a historic telling in the town center. I would love to have ridden around the whole town to be able to take pictures.

The walk around Kinsale was a nice way to spend an hour plus, get in a little bit of walking and learn about Kinsale. The guide was informative and humorous. The walk was level and easy for anyone even remotely ambulatory.

Glad you enjoyed the combination of the humour and the information on the walk. The town is ideal for anyone with a walking difficulty as it is so level because much of the town centre has been reclaimed from the sea and footpaths have been dished to aid wheelchair users.

We were a group of 3 couples and our guide had a delightful personality and had a vast knowledge both of Irish and American history. We all thoroughly enjoyed our guided tour of Kinsale.

It is always great to hear that visitors enjoy the walk, the " delightful personality " comment is real plamas, the Irish word for flattery ! Your comment does show that people can really enjoy history,

It is always sunny in Kinsale! That's why I told you that we are the Riviera of Ireland ! Glad to hear that the combination of information and entertainment helped you to enjoy the town and remember our history which was mostly a disaster, but the walk does have a happy ending.
