Golden sands on a near empty beach was just bliss- great walks on both beaches- one day I will get to Surf School

“Best beach in Ireland!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2013

We went on a beautiful, sunny day when the tide was way out. I've never seen a beach so big! I'm sure it would be much smaller with the tide all the way in, but it's worth the chance (or just look up the tides before you go!). Huge expanses of sand for playing games and sports, tons of tide pools for little kids, and while there were plenty of people about, it didn't feel crowded at all. There's also a lovely hotel up at the entrance to the beach where you can sit outdoors and get a nice pint or lunch.
