Very friendly waiting staff, but they don't cook the food. It was rather average food, I had the seafood platter, which - besides the predictable array of smoked salmon also had smoked mackerel. But the hefty price tag made me feel more annoyed than the average food. The platter was EUR 25, and down the road in Dune's Pub at Inchidoney hotel you get what I would consider a tremendous seafood platter for a fiver more at EUR 30. My wife had lamb which was quite tough - again, something that I wouldn't expect in a restaurant like this.

This was a second visit to the Malthouse and didn’t disappoint. This is a lovely restaurant in a very central location. The waitress was very helpful with our wine selection and attentive throughout. The menu choice is somewhat limited but the food offered is excellent. We visited on a Sunday night and it was very busy and had a great atmosphere.

On a recent visit to Clonakilty we dined at the Malthouse Granary Restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed an excellent meal. Great buzz in the restaurant and a genuinely warm atmosphere, good selection of dishes on the menu, accompanied by efficient and friendly service. Seafood platter in particular stood out as a superb choice and a wonderful tomato and basil soup.
Would highly recommend this restaurant.

My husband and I had the most perfect meal last night In the Malthouse Granary Restaurant. We had the Early Bird menu which was really very good value. Everything about the place from the waitress to the food was super. It really was one of the best meals i have had for a long time. We will be back. Well done to all!!

Decided to bring the family here for our first visit to Clonakilty, partly based on TripAdvisor reviews. The quality of food was ok and well presented, but nothing outstanding. Certainly not as high a standard as Richy's, which we tried on our last evening. Service was a little on the slow side, partly due to one of the waitresses having her family in, so she was less attentive towards other diners.
