“"Best beef I've ever had"”
Reviewed July 3, 2014

My family went to Emmet Hotel after being encouraged to to so from our great B&B hostess. My dad had the 100% Irish Beef Burger and said, "this is the best beef I've ever had." I had the slowed cooked beef in a red wine sauce and I agree it was the best beef I'd ever had. The atmosphere was a bit lacking, but the food was amazing! I highly recommend Emmet Hotel for dinner when you're traveling through this area.

We visited the hotel twice last week for lunch and dinner. The food was excellent as always. Yummy goat's cheese salad and home made brown bread. Lovely, friendly staff. The conservatory is gorgeous with a lovely outside area.Beautiful location.

We arrived very late with no booking, but the staff went out of their way to help us. We had a family room with four single beds. It was really rather basic with a tiny window facing a wall and a very small bathroom with shower - a family of four would have struggled! Although the room was large, the decor was less than charming. However the communal areas were nice and the breakfast was very good. The location of hotel itself was great, a lovely leafy square which is very pleasant.

Stayed here recently as part of a hen group of girls , Have to say from the moment we entered the hotel the staff were amazing , we were treated very well and any questions we had were answered right away , Some guests had to call reception for items (hairdryer) and it was up within a couple of moments .Each staff member was so friendly and helpful
Rooms were clean and well equipped , Breakfast was gorgeous and plentiful , we also had a BBQ the night before on the lovely patio area , food was yummy !!
would recommend this hotel to anyone heading to clonakility

This hotel is in a fine location, very central. First impressions was it's a lovely room, but in reality there's no storage space. Staff were very friendly and helpful when they could be found. Seemed to be doing 2 or 3 jobs at the one time. Was ok as a half price break but I wouldn't pay full price to stay here

Adequate for the deal we got but would probably not pay the full price normally for the room. Room was smallish but fine and nicely decorated and at first look we were thinking that the bed was going to be uncomfortable as it was quite small, but we actually slept well. The lady at reception had said that they were doing up the rooms so we actually got one of the better rooms we think. We could see that they are making attempts at making the hotel a little more stylish in their decor, as the breakfast and dining room looked lovely and the small lounge to sit in at the front of the hotel. The bar still seems to be of the old decor but it is nice and relaxing. The location of the hotel is excellent as it is in town and has a small park nearby and is near the river. The town was lovely and a great base for exploring the West of Cork.
