“Amazing fish and chips”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

We were craving fish and chips after a day at the beach and this place did not disappoint! We sat in to eat and although it was simple and kind of canteen style it was pleasant enough. We ordered the fish of the day lightly battered with chips and it was delightful. Light batter and perfectly cooked fish and chips were delicious too! Highly recommend this place :)

“A great fish and chipper”
Reviewed August 14, 2013

We had spent the day walking and travelling around West Cork and fancied something straight forward and satisfying - which we got. The place is simple but clean and comfortable. The service was friendly and helpful - I was steered in a particular culinary direction and am happy that I took the waitresses advice. The fish - chosen without batter - was tasty and perfectly cooked. However beyond everything it's important to point put that the chips were some of the best and tastiest chips I have had in a very long time. The food was freshly cooked and as such service took a little time - but was well worth it.

“Great fresh food and friendly service”
Reviewed August 6, 2013

The Fastnet Catch is a fish and chip shop with a small restaurant. There were other items on the menu like burgers and chicken goujons, from locally sourced meat. Three of us,including my 6 yr old son, thoroughly enjoyed our fish and chips. The Lemon Sole, caught locally, was fresh, delicately and lightly cooked, and the home made chips were hot and fresh.
I could have done with more chips though as the sole was small enough.
My son ate all of his fish goujons, and the wonderful waitress asked if he would like more, which he did, and which he ate. He was thrilled.
The food is all prepared daily on the premises and though we only had the fish, other diners had burgers and chicken goujons which looked great.
We got a take away a few nights later. The haddock suffered slightly from being wrapped for takeaway but tasted great and there were LOADS of chips.
If we ever make it back to Clonakilty we'll definitely be back.

“Dinner”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

We had done tons of walking and had come in to Clonakilty for some food and fell upon this place. What a great choice!!! We had the fish unbattered with chips and onion rings. Could barely speak as we were so enjoying the food. It seemed a little pricey at 11.50 euros....until you ate it and realised it beat all previous fish and chips i have ever had in the last decade! can only think of 2 other places as good.Definitely recommend it!
