My brother and I were travelling directly from Dublin, after visiting Glendalough, Kilkenny and the Rock of Cashel and finally found this lovely place for some rest, between Mitchelstown and Mallow, on the R522.
The owner, Eva, has two self-catering cottages too, but we stayed in her B&B, and she was a perfect host, offering us tea as soon as arrived, cooking finely in the morning and chatting a bit, warmer than other B&B welcomes we experimented later in our trip.
Oh, and the room was stunning! A very clean huge 3-beds room, with magazines to read, TV, everything we need provided in the bathroom, what a comfortable quiet night!
Also the price was good too.

We definetly recommend Eva's place as a place to stay if you're travelling through Southern Ireland.

Thanks Eva!!

If you're Irish you should realise a B&B, while a business, is not about making as much money as possible from tourists/visitors and scrimping on the services offered but about offering the homely Irish welcome, at good value for money, to those visiting the country to experience the culture. Sadly, many B&Bs in their effort to make a quick buck seem to have forgotten this!

Not Eva and her B&B in Park South however! An amazing house, modern and well furnished kept to the cleanest and highest standards awaits. We were offered tea, and homemade scones/apple pie on our arrival at 10.30 at night and enjoyed a cuppa and hearty chat with the Bean an Ti - time you dont get with many in the Tourism trade these days!

Breakfast was amazing with all the cereals you could name, fruit, full Irish if wanted and of course home made brown bread, jam and marmalade!
Extra touches were complimentary Shampoo/Condioner in the Bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities with choccie bars in the bedroom, bedside magazines etc!

She even has two amazing self catering houses for rent too just around the corner from the Ballyhoura Mountain Range making an excellent base for MTBing and hill walking activities! Pass by this B&B when visiting Cork/Limerick or Kerry and your peril!
Most highly recommended!!! :)

We had a wonderful stay at Eva's self catering cottage "Nagle View". After three days at Temple Bar in Dublin (no sleep), the beautiful, quiet countryside in Doneraile was a welcome respite. Eva had fresh baked pies and scones ready for us as we arrived. The cottage was beautiful, well appointed and spotless.
We used Nagle View as our base for visiting the Ring of Kerry and Blarney Castle in Cork. We also visited a nearby castle called "Blackwater" and enjoyed an interesting visit with its owner, Patrick Nordstrom. (Castle available for wedding rentals)
Thank you for the lovely stay, Eva, you are a gem!

I had read in a travel book that Mallow is a good central location for seeing the Southwest portion of Ireland. While internet surfing I came across the most perfect website for a B/B that I could possibly imagine. It is for a place called "Park South". They have both a B/B as well as 2 "self catered cottages". We stayed in the newly completed "Nagle View". When we first walked in to this beautiful home we were awestruck by it's perfection. I actually began to worry that I had remembered the price wrong because we paid far more per night for a small hotel room in Dublin than we did to use this fully equipped home per night. It comfortably could accomodate 6-8 guests. It is situated between Mallow and Doneraile in the middle of pastureland. The view from each window was beautiful and provided a lovely retreat after days of driving to and from the many sights of this area. Eva (the B/B owner) was charming and keeps the place spotless. I had been very concerned about driving and after getting use to changing sides of the road we found the signage of the area to be quite adequate. This B/B is located about a 35 min. drive from the Cork airport. We would love to return one day with the whole family. If you would like to check out their great website you can find them at .park-south.
