Our journey started in South Australia.
Our first detination in Ireland was The Green, Malahide which is a residential property development adjacent to the Malahide Marina and Town Square.
Malahide is located 15 minutes north of Dublin Airport and provides swift access by public transport or arterial road into Dublin and surrounding areas
Malahide is a perfect seaside holiday destination for the great outdoors (weather permitting). There are scenic walking paths along the coast as well as through the lush Malahide Castle Property which is a 10 minute walk from the Marina.
We rented a privately owned two bedroom, ground floor apartment for 1 week. As we settled into our apartment we were fortunate enough to hear a very talented busker playing the most relaxing French piano accordian music imaginable. After such a long and tiring journey it really was the perfect tonic.
Beware if you are renting an Apartment at the Marina!!
Our apartment was excellent except for the electric water pump. that kicked in every time we turned on a tap or flushed the toilet. We can still hear the droan now.
The village atmoshere came alive in the evenings due to the large influx of people heading for restaurants, cafes and a couple of traditional pubs. Of cousre there is the dreaded Starbucks Coffee Franchise!
By morning Malahide has returned to a sleepy coastal villege which in my opinion is the best time to experience the real atmoshere.
If you are planning a trip to Ireland I suggest you consider a viisit to Malahide, you wont be disappointed.
