“Great meal in a lovely place”
Reviewed August 5, 2012

We hadn't booked Hush, but as it had started to rain and we were outside, we decided to see of there were any free tables. The restaurant was very busy but the manager said if we did not mind a short wait, he would get us a table and sure enough he did. The staff were all lovely and the food was very good considering the price which was very reasonable. We will be back.

“No need to go anywhere else!”
Reviewed June 21, 2012

What a gem of a restaurant. It's perfectly located in the centre of a lovely, vibrant Malahide, you get a great welcome on your arrival and without exception, the staff are all lovely. The food is of a very good standard (especially the steaks) and they have a super wine list. The price level is surprisingly good and to top it all there is a taxi rank exactly across the street if you need it. It's small and cosy but you do feel part of the lovely ambience and come away feeling like you'd be making a return trip quite soon!

“Cosy and Quaint.”
Reviewed June 13, 2012

I bought my Mother to Hush for Mothers Day and we had a beautiful lunch. From the moment we entered Norman, the owner made us feel so welcome .We had a lovely table in the window and the service was second to none. Mam had beautiful Hake with a medley of vegetables and I had the wild salmon. Both were cooked to perfection and the deserts were yummy.
The restaurant was buzzing and the friendly staff very efficient.
She is already asking to revisit for next year! Good sign!

“Forgotten corner”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Celebrating a big birthday with friends. We were greeted and seated and received menus. We had to ask for a drink. The white wine arrived and it was warm. When we asked for a wine cooler it arrived with the bottle sitting on top of a couple of lumps of ice......? We asked another waitress (as we didn't seem to have a specific server) who took it away and organised a proper cooler with ice and water. The white wine was just about cool enough by the time we finished our meal :-( Starters of duck confit, scallops and goats cheese were good. The mains however were very disappointing (plain and unexciting). Two racks of lamb thrown on a bed of mashed potato - the cabbage and bacon were non-existent and the jus must have been left in the kitchen. Plain, plain, plain. Two of us had fish and again, bland and uninteresting. Desserts were grand and the cheese board was disappointing. Shame - I had eaten here previously and loved it. My friends, who were footing the bill were very disappointed.
