“Brilliant hotel”
Reviewed February 6, 2014 via mobile

Stayed at this hotel on the 4th of Feb I visited with my mother after a disastrous night in a city centre hotel. As the taxi pulled into the car park it was like a mirage on the horizon. The staff were lovely and helpful we had booked the previous night and there was no bother at all. The hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The room was spotless and the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in. I will definitely come back again this hotel deserves every one of its four stars and more.

After an horrific stay in Dublin City we booked into this Hotel. The staff were great after listening to our horror story the Receptionist gave us a lovely room with a sea view, the bed was very comfortable the bedding was good quality and the pillows were great! There was all that you would expect from a four star establishment including a flat screen with a good range of channels. All the staff that we met on our stay we're very efficient and helpful especially the bar staff! We would definitely stay here again. A lot of supposedly four star establishments in Dublin City could learn from this Hotel.

My local hotel for a drink with the family when visiting.
I stayed at the hotel for the first time over the Christmas period and I must say from the moment we arrived, welcomed by Rachel the receptionist it was the start of a very enjoyable experience. All the staff were extremely friendly and efficient. We had drinks at the bar on several occasions, where our excellent barman Daniel, among others would look after us.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and have done to my work colleagues since my return to Brussels.

We have just returned from a weekend at this hotel to celebrate my sister's 50th birthday and I cannot praise it enough. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. We had a package which included dinner and I have to say that the food was among the best I've tasted. We also had a spa treatment in our package and the staff here too, were extremely efficient. The location is excellent..just a stroll to the beach and promenade and further afield (about 2 miles) Mallahide offers some lovely shops to browse around. All in all I'd thoroughly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning again soon.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 135 which is a family room with 2 double beds and a beautiful view of the golf cou...

Stayed one night with dinner and breakfast. I was accompanied with a wife and toddler! The location is great and worth a dander along the beach to work up an appetite. The hotel looks good both inside and out (hard to beat a golf course attached). The two things that stood out for us was the food and the staff service. I have never felt it necessary to comment about a hotel's food as it should be a high standard when you are paying for it, but this 3 course was memorable combined with the service which was friendly but not overdone.

We really had a good time in the hotel however not a lot to do in the rain (unless travel into Dublin).
It is perfect for a golf outing not really a family orientated hotel as no swimming pool. The gym is very disappointing - better off going for a run on the beach.

Room Tip: Was told by receptionist we would get a quiet room as we had a toddler but unfortunately this wasn...

Decided to revisit Portmarnock during the week and stay thursday evening on a good deal. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist. Asked for a sea view upgrade and were pleasantly surprised to get it! Room 304. Great sea view and quiet part of the hotel. Great. Room clean and tidy. Love it here. Good for a wee break and not to far to travel to get here from Northern Ireland. Easy access to the beach and coastal walks. Close to Malahide and Howth or to catch a dart train into Dublin if you wanted! Even asked if able to have later check out and was able to stay until 1pm. Brilliant. No rush to checkout. The hotel may never come up to 5 star rating but has lots of good qualities if you want a restful day or two away. This is our third time here and we will be back again..... Recommend all to try.

Room Tip: We love to get a sea view room but not along the main corridor from the lounge area. Go upstairs for...

The hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful. No fuss received from any request made. Booked for two night, extended stay for 5, platter of sandwiches at 4am after a long night, borrow of a phone charger after leaving mine at home. Room was large and clean - great selection of TV channels which astonishingly included Sky Sports, BT Sports and Setanta. By far the best value for money stay and experience from any hotel I have had the pleasure of staying in. Make the most the current offers!
