Cesh Corran
Ranked #7 of 8 Boyle B&B and Inns
Reviewed September 16, 2010

My wife and I stayed at Cesh Corran B&B at the beginning and end of our six-day, self-guided, Iron Donkey bicycle tour. Following the tour, we stayed at Cesh Corran on our own to see more of the area. The B&B, owned by Mary Cooney, is in Boyle, Ireland. The town itself has a nice selection of pubs, restaurants, and historical sites. The Boyle Abbey ruins, under restoration, are, literally, across the street from the B&B, which is also near the bus station, train station, and provides parking. Our room, bed, and shower were much more spacious than usually found in B&B's, and Mary's breakfasts are superb. She soon became more of a friend than a host. She went well beyond what was expected to ensure that we had whatever we needed. We give Cesh Corran our highest recommendation.

We have stayed in all grades of accommodation from the seven star in UAE to hostel accommodation in Glendalough but none compares to Cesh Corran for the hospitality and warm welcome we received on arrival. The bedroom was beautifully/tastefully decorated. Our room was called the lavender room and how appropriate! All home baking, preserves and beautifully cooked breakfasts. my partner is a coeliac and in nthe morning Mary had homemade gluten free bread. On arrival we were treated to freshly brewed coffee homemade scones and muffins and rice cakes for my coeliac partner. Mary's knowledge of the area is second to none and she was able to give us so much information that a trip to the tourist office was superflous! Many thanks Mary from Patricia & Paddy

Mary rejuvenated my son and I both before and after our recent cycling trip in Ireland.
We couldn't ask for a more caring person. We were jet lagged at the start and exhausted at the end of our trip and Mary took care of us. Great place. The rooms closest to the road have some traffic noise but we slept well and ate well.

This B&B was fantastic for our needs. It was very close to the Abbey that we wanted to see and also very close to a playground for the baby. The rooms were spotless and I enjoyed that the bathroom was bigger than the B&B in Dublin and my room even had a bathtub! The breakfast included freshly made scrambled eggs which was very nice. She was always pleasant to us even when the baby was making a mess and/or screaming.

the downsides:
sometimes when we had a question or needed something, the woman who runs the place was MIA
the door that led to the dining part of the house was shut most of the time so there was no table for meals we didn't eat out and no food or drink available except at breakfast-time.

I would recommend Cesh Corran for a great welcome from Mary, our landlady. Homebake awaited us after hours of travel in cold conditions. Mary found the best rooms to suit our group and Boyle town is only a 5 mins walk from her B & B. Large parking at the rear of the house and rooms were cosy, clean, unique character and spotless bathroom. Mary is most informative on cultural and tourist activities in the area and certainly would stay with her again.

We stayed at the Cesh Corran for 2 nights in March of 2009. The location is very easy to find, there is a private car park in the back, and the town of Boyle is literally one block over. From our room we could see Boyle Abbey and the Boyle river. Mary was a delight and truly a master of interior design. The colors and ambiance were just lovely. The place was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water, and the breakfast was good. Boyle is a great location and we had the pleasure of getting to visit the local farmers market which is held every Saturday. We would highly recommend staying at the Cesh Corran and would definitely stay there again.

What an excellent location!! Cesh Corran is really a real home from home. The welcome is second to none.

We have never stayed anywhere as welcoming and delightful as Cesh Corran. Everywhere is spotless, the breakfast is not to be missed - such a choice!! The location is brilliant - it could not be better!

I would not hesitate to recommend a stay here - in fact we will without a doubt be returning for another stay with Mary.

Dont miss out on a chance to stay with Mary - you will not be disappointed!!
