Boyle Abbey has been saved from crumbling by very clever conservation measures. The ruin is a huge structure on the banks of the River Boyle. Its importance in its day is obvious. Its importance today has been underscored by the glass walkway and the careful conservation work undertaken by the Board of Works. It is open to the public and a nice experience to stroll around and wonder about all the history that attaches itself to this building.
