We have just returned from a wonderful 3 night Break over Christmas in Kitties Cottage! What a Little Treasure it was! Cannot thank Margaret and her team enough for everything and even meeting us on Christmas Eve! The Entire Cottage was spotless - every little detail has been carefully thought out and there is everything you need to even make a christmas Dinner! the weather was cold and wet but the cottage was toasty warm with the fantastic big open fire! the grounds were perfectly maintained despite the weather! we were able to enjoy some DVDs and even some games from the games chest! We will definately return and cannot reccommend Creevy Cottages enough! Huge thanks and we cannot wait for our next visit!

Had a great stay in Big Jimmys cottage in Creevy. A big thank you to Barbara for showing us to the cottage and helping us out. Four of us stayed and were able to bring the dog aswell. Firstly, the cottage itself was very clean, cosy and spacious with 3 lovely bedrooms , 2 bathrooms and large sitting/dining area. Our favourite part was the beautiful fireplace , in which we lit a fire each evening, logs/peat were ready for us on the first day we arrived. The view from the cottage over donegal bay was spectacular. We travelled round the area each day, Creevy Pier/ Rossnallagh beach , loved it. Would recommend these cottages to anyone. Would love to come again.
Thanks to Barbara / Margaret.

Room Tip: All rooms beautiful.

We really enjoyed our week at Creevy Cottage! The place is just great. Barbara made us feel welcome instantly with all her delicate intentions (including a pot of fresh milk in the fridge for the tea). Burning peat in the fireplace every evening was also enjoyable. We visited the area which is I must say fantastic and we even drove to the Giant Causeway, the rick-a-reed bridge and to Belfast wher we had a "political tour" of the city in a black taxi. So a wonderful holiday altogether and a place to recommend!

My husband, 5year old son and myself have just returned from a three night stay at Mary Kates. An ideal location for a relaxing country break. The cottage itself is exactly as you would imagine and so traditional and quaint. We loved the open fire, beautifully decorated bedrooms and most of all the BBQ and picknik area (we were lucky with the weather and was lovely to sit in the garden for meals overlooking the lovely scenery). The only minor drawback is the water pressure/temperature in the showers but this was rather insignificant as everything else more than made up for it. For those who enjoy jogging/walking there are some lovely walks and country paths. It is also close to Bundoran and Ballyshannon and the amazing beach is only a couple of miles away. We will be back. Thanks for a great weekend.

We are delighted you enjoyed Mary Kate's cottage during your recent stay to Creevy - you were able to enjoy all our amenities and amenities in the local area. We are, only rare times, subject to a reduction in water pressure at peak times of the day during the height of the summer which unfortunately is out of our control. We do look forward to welcoming you and your lovely family back to our cottages in the near future!

At first on arrival the cottage was not located as advised in the Imagine Ireland website which had stated "near the water". However I totally disagree with the previous critic-the cottage was far from 'shabby'. Three generous sized bedrooms, one en suite. A large open plan kitchen, dining room and living room.Patio doors lead to a large garden area with driveway for 2-3 cars. The open fireplace was all ready to start up with plenty of turf. The barbeque was a great success with picnic bench outside for al fresco dining (weather permitting). The rooms were spotless, in fact the whole cottage was spotless, clean with everything required. Only two small complaints-the family shower had very low pressure and was not too great. Although the garden was huge and great for kids with a swing, was full of nettles and the kids did get stung very often.
Overall, was very impressed and would definately return via the Creevy Experience.

Thank you for your kind comments in relation to our cottage Mary Kates. I was sorry that you expected to be booked into Kitty's Cottage but as we discussed, the agency does not advertise the namesof the cottages as they want their clients to book through them. They do advertise that Mary Kates Cottage is 1 mile away from Creevy Pier, not beside it which is the case for Kitty's Cottage. We have had on occasion had low water pressure in the area as Creevy and Rossnowlagh are primarily tourist destinations and the water pressure can reduce during peak times - something we have taken up with the Council. I am so sorry about the nettles - had I known I would have had them removed - they are gone now! We aim to have this cottage very child friendly with the swings and gates giving a safe environment for the children. In additional we added the Xbox and games chest giving a free additional benefit for the children if the weather is too wet outside. We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our cottages in the future! And thank you for sharing your experience.

We have stayed many times in Kerry, this was our first trip to Donegal and not our last it was beautiful. We found Mary Kate's Cottage to be rather small and shabby. Compared to the other properties we have rented over the past eight years it was expensive. We were disappointed in the quality of the accommodation there seemed to be a large amount of furniture in a very small living area, quite cramped. The ladies were very helpful and repaired the shower immediately after the Bank Holiday. I just think that after the wonderful houses we have rented in Kerry and Connemara this was quite a let down.

We thank our guests for their comments, even though we are disappointed with the contents. Mary Kate’s cottage is a 4* Failte Ireland approved, EU Flower approved (Eco friendly) and VAS Grade 3 approved (Wheelchair accessible). We must comply with all regulations and the building is equipped for six guests including furniture. We were unaware that there were special requirements and would have removed some of our furniture to facilitate furniture taken.

We think the comment ‘shabby look’ is unfair. Our cottage was freshly painted this year, including the flagstone floors. All our linen and towels are newly purchased, along with cutlery and crockery. We have to admit the colour scheme in the suite did not match the Donegal tweed curtains as we are currently re-upholstering the suites and have been moving them around.

We recommend guests book direct with us as we have no control over the rates third party agencies charge. We appreciate the positive comments re the shower and as stated had the shower assessed and a new shower installed within five hours.

We are continually adding to our cottages to make them more appealing and recently added swings for small children along with playstation games for the odd rainy day! We do hope our previous guests travel to Donegal as it much to offer young families.

We booked The Moor one of the cottages owned and run by the Creevy experience.

We can't thank Margaret enough through the booking to meeting us at the cottage to explain how everything worked.

The cottage was outstanding with every mod con to make your holiday stress free. But this did not take away from the traditional charm which The Moor had in spades.

The setting couldn't be better with a large front and rear garden from which you can get a view of the sea. The rear garden was the scene for my nightly game of football with my son.

A short walk brings you to Creevy Harbour which is very well used by children jumping from the pier into the sea. Just opposite is the pier hotel and I cant think of a better setting for a pint of the black stuff. We had a few meals in the hotel and the food was second to none and very reasonably priced.

I can thoroughly recommend a stay in any of the cottages and we will definitely be back.

We thank our guests for their kind comments – The Moor cottage is beside the Creevy Pier Hotel and Pier and our 10 mile coastal walk. We pride ourselves in ensuring all modern requirements are catered for but also promoting the cottages with the traditional charm including turf fires we are known for. We look forward to welcoming our guests again.
