Creevy Holiday Cottages
Reviewed September 15, 2011

We booked The Moor one of the cottages owned and run by the Creevy experience.

We can't thank Margaret enough through the booking to meeting us at the cottage to explain how everything worked.

The cottage was outstanding with every mod con to make your holiday stress free. But this did not take away from the traditional charm which The Moor had in spades.

The setting couldn't be better with a large front and rear garden from which you can get a view of the sea. The rear garden was the scene for my nightly game of football with my son.

A short walk brings you to Creevy Harbour which is very well used by children jumping from the pier into the sea. Just opposite is the pier hotel and I cant think of a better setting for a pint of the black stuff. We had a few meals in the hotel and the food was second to none and very reasonably priced.

I can thoroughly recommend a stay in any of the cottages and we will definitely be back.

We thank our guests for their kind comments – The Moor cottage is beside the Creevy Pier Hotel and Pier and our 10 mile coastal walk. We pride ourselves in ensuring all modern requirements are catered for but also promoting the cottages with the traditional charm including turf fires we are known for. We look forward to welcoming our guests again.

We had a really great time at our Creevy Cottage, it was beautiful! It was really clean and very cosy when we lit the fire, our doggies were delighted there too! The area is beautiful and quiet with the sea right there when you walk out! Donegal is our favourite place to holiday in Ireland and this was the perfect relaxing getaway!

On my second visit to Ireland with family and friends, we had the pleasure of staying at "Big Jimmys" Creevy Cottages. The drive up to the cottage, with stonewall lined road ways and the magnificent view, reminded me of the movie, PS I Love you, it took my breath away. The cottage was clean, with large comfortable rooms that were all well equipped to make it home like. Yes, it is true, we did light the fireplace in May - it was very cozy in the living and dining area.
The scenery cannot be described in words, load your cameras!!

Our representative, Barbara, was very helpful, accommodating and had information to make our stay enjoyable, suggesting night life and restaurants nearby. There were brochures available at the cottage if we wanted to explore the area on our own, at our leisure.

Creevy Cottages have everything you need whether in a group looking to tour and golf or if you were looking for an intimate getaway, it's private and secluded.

It's time to visit again and Creevy Cottages will be part of that visit. A wonderful touch of Irish History to discover!!

We thank our guests for their lovely review of Big Jimmy’s cottage. With Big Jimmy’s being two fields away from the Atlantic ocean and overlooking the bay, the views are spectacular. Situated in a remote area in the countryside, yet five miles from Ballyshannon town, our guests can enjoy peace and tranquillity. We look forward to welcoming our guests again.

Ireland offers panoramic views and more shades of green imaginable. After watching many movies at home about Ireland, the real thing is far more magnificant and you'll get teary eyed. The stone fences/walls are amazing and you pass through a narrow stone lined roadway to reach the Creevy Cottage we stayed at. The rooms were large and spacious with crisp clean linens. The fireplace warmed the dining and living area - it was a little to cool outside to use the bbq facilities. We were pleasantly suprised with all we needed in the kitchen for a quick coffee or tea and the laundry facilities available were quite nice. The view around the cottage offered Castles, hills and surrounding water. The cows and sheep that lingered in the fields were my personal favourite - many pictures. One party member enjoyed being near one of the most famous golf courses. I truly have never experienced or enjoyed a better vacation and the Creevy Cottages made it quite comfortable. I have to say you should experience it!

We would like to thank our guests for their kind comments. We work hard to keep up our standards and ensure our guests have a warm welcome by providing our Fairtrade welcome pack which includes tea/coffee/milk/biscuits and homemade muesli on arrival. We also provide a Fire starter pack – setting the fire ready for a light and the basket full of logs and turf! The Golf courses near us is Murvagh links course and 18 hole Bundoran Golf Club. We look forward to welcoming our guests again in the near future.

Having already been to C.Donegal for a wedding, I fell in love with the area and vowed to go back, so this August five of my friends and I stayed in Kitty Cottage, part of the Creevy Cottage Co-operative. It was really easy to book, and the correspondence from Margaret Storey (manager) was really helpful and friendly. The cottage itself is in an idyllic location, with the local cows for neighbours, everything you might need catered for, and a great hoard of leaflets to suggest where you could go and what you could get up to! If there was anything you needed, Margaret and the team were quick to respond and nothing was too much trouble. The week went too quickly and we will, without a doubt be heading back there again some time in the not too distant future. Would recommend to family groups, friends and couples alike.

We decided to take a last minute break and booked Kitties Cottage within a few hours of hitting the road. Barbara at the Creevy co op couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. The cottage was clean and comfortable. We've stayed in cottages in Donegal before, but the other cottages were just like staying in someones modern bungalow. The Creevy co-operative cottages are of a modern construction but finished in local stone. They look very nice and much more traditional than anything else in the area. Inside there is a large fireplace which looked great with a roaring fire. The Creevy area is very unspoilt and reminds me of the Donegal I visited as a child over forty years ago, however the nice thing about Creevy is that whilst it feels isolated, its only a relatively short drive to Ballyshannon and the main road to Sligo, Donegal or Enniskillen. The Creevy cottages are promoted with an emphasis on green tourism. The sympathetic construction ensures the landscape and its natural beauty are preserved and enhanced. Its nice to know that the local community is benefiting from this endeavor.

We thank our guests for their kind comments. Kitty’s cottage is one of our popular cottages being so close to the pier, hotel and 10 mile coastal walk. Whilst keep with the old traditional style, we also include all the mod cons to achieve our 4* approval. As mentioned we achieved our EU Flower in 2007 for our Eco friendly ethos and work hard to maintain these standards. We look forward to welcoming our guests again.

My family rented 2 of the 3 cottages available - Kittys and Big Jimmys. I have to say the whole stay (1 week) was fantastic. The manager Molly was very helpful and ensured that although we arrived early we were well looked after. The cottages were clean and as for location if you are seeking 'old Ireland' this is the place to be. The whole experience gave us our best holiday in Ireland yet and we have already booked to go back next year!
